Newly released emails on the Benghazi terror attack suggest a senior White House aide played a central role in preparing former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice for her controversial Sunday show appearances -- where she wrongly blamed protests over an Internet video.

The Rhodes email, with the subject line: "RE: PREP Call with Susan: Saturday at 4:00 pm ET," was sent to a dozen members of the administration's inner circle, including key members of the White House communications team such as Press Secretary Jay Carney.
In the email, Rhodes specifically draws attention to the anti-Islam Internet video, without distinguishing whether the Benghazi attack was different from protests elsewhere.
The email lists the following two goals, among others: "To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy." "To reinforce the President and Administration's strength and steadiness in dealing with difficult challenges."

The White House is disavowing a statement from their own Cairo embassy that apologized for anti-Muslim activity in the United States.
“The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government,” a senior administration official told POLITICO…
“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a Tuesday statement.

as much as I would like to agree with you, I cannot give ANYONE in GOVERNMENT the Benefit of Doubt. I have to assume They All Knew and were trying to do some stupid thing like “Save the country” from a scandal, when it is all about Saving their own asses from the hangman’s noose.
great point ! what we haven’t answered yet, tho, is why Stephens was set up to be murdered? Issa is nothing but one big dog and pony show, been saying it for years, If they were serious, there would be a Select Committee, and the entire House would be on hand to vote for Contempt on the Spot, then the Chairman would IMMEDIATELY JAIL every last Recalcitrant witness for “Inherent Contempt”. With the ENTIRE HOUSE voting on it right then and there. I might Add Being Jailed for Inherent Contempt BY CONGRESS is not the same as Contempt of court, NOBODY CAN OVERTURN or even Review Congressional Decisions in this matter. and You Have NO RIGHT to an Attorney, or anything else, they could put you in GITMO tomorrow. It is not a “Court of Law” it is Above The Law in this respect.
