Are conservatives deserting Sarah Palin? (Another one)
The British Broadcasting Corporation ^ | April 29, 2014 | Kierran Petersen in Washington, DC

Sarah Palin has long been a bete noir of the left, but she has always been able to count support from grass-roots conservatives. At least, until now.

During a speech to members of the National Rifle Association this weekend, Ms Palin cracked a joke that - while being well-received by the crowd - didn't go over as well with many Christian commentators, many of whom considered her an ally.

"They obviously have information on plots to carry out jihad," she said, referring to prisoners. "Oh, but you can't offend them, can't make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptise terrorists."

For The American Conservative's Rod Dreher, Ms Palin's statement is "sacrilegious". He says that those who laughed at the joke should be ashamed of themselves. Baptism, he says, should be about starting a new life, not celebrating torture.

"If I thought that kind of hateful declaration and abuse of the Christian religion was what conservatism stood for, I wouldn't be able to call myself a conservative," he writes....

I want to be sure I toe the liberal/PDS line you know. I can’t think for myself. I have to follow the herd. It’s what being an American is all about in 2014!

And when Palin speaks, I wanna be right there to abandon her...again...for the 400th time. Because I wanna be offended too like all my friends.

The media is being pressured by CAIR and the muslim brotherhood.

Gets to the point where you just have to ask wearily, “Who’s askin’?” Because this meme is old already. On a level playing field it might be effective but at this point everyone knows the media are biased and manipulative and that it really isn’t worth replying to the concern trolls anymore.

As I said to the last handwringer. If my daughter can and did ‘survive’ without permanent physical mental damage, so can the poor widdle headcutters.

I love Dr. Ben Carson and Lt. Col. Allen West but they can do much about Washington right now and I don’t have any indication they are going to run for office. I doubt Sarah will either. I am watching Trey Gowdy and Ted Cruz closely. They are in positions to do something.

You are really going to be unhappy and limit yourself if you think the only people who can do anything about anything are those who are elected. Right now, I’d say Ben Carson and Sarah Palin are more impactful than probably 90% of elected House and Senate members.

Get out more……it’ll do you good.

"Are conservatives deserting Sarah Palin?"

That question's got to be about six years old by now.

She could serve two terms, cure cancer, bring peace to the galaxy and be brought personally into heaven by Jesus Christ and some lib writer would be asking

“Has Palin living in a gated community caused conservatives to abandon her?”

Dreher: Get a sense of humor or go away.

Next thing you know, you’ll be for outlawing the saying” Baptism of Fire”.

My son’s first “baptism of fire” was an Iraqi 122 MM rocket aimed at his convoy. You should have seen my Jewish soldier skiddadle out of the way, real quick.

In life, some words transcend religion and some are just funny when used in a certain way.

Our sense of humor separates us from the Lunatic Left which has none except that based on hate.

Get with the program. You might like it.

This guy has too much time on his hands. Anyone with 1/100th of a brain, can figure out the context of what she is saying. He needs to get a life. And you are right, it isn't torture.

Hey does anyone know a good accountant? I wonder if we could get a class action tax break. Think about it. In the Obama economy, we have been responsible for keeping hundreds of journalists employed. Without us abandoning her every week for 6 years now, the reporter jobs writing articles about it would be gone.

So we may qualify.

Unless the protocol has changed in recent years, all Naval Aviators are water boarded as part of the Survival Escape and Evasion training they are required to go through prior to their first deployment.

Its astonishing to me seeing Republicans trashing Sarah Palin as if they are liberal..These last few days I have heard more garbage thrown at Sarah from the right than the left..really surprising after all she has done for the party and continues to do, I see more and more everyday the GOP Establishment(Which is just a cute term for Progressive Republican) turning into the Rat Party. Even Dems defend their own, they are loyal to their own..for some reason the GOP throws their own to the wolves. We all know what the GOP Elitist schmucks want, Jeb Bush to run, and he probably will, and if he gets the nomination he will lose just like every single time the GOP runs a progressive we never win

Why are you talking to me like I’m the enemy? I am not.

And in what way are Carson and Palin more impactful than 90% of the house and senate?

And why should I get out more when I have FR?
