School accused of trying to 'demonize' student in 'pastry gun' suspension Published April 30, 2014 FoxNews.com
The attorney for a Maryland boy who was suspended after shaping a pastry into a gun says school administrators are trying to "demonize" him in their bid to fight an appeal to have the punishment erased from his school record.
Joshua Welch, 9, was suspended from Park Elementary School in Baltimore for two days in March 2013 after his second-grade teacher accused him of chewing his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun.
The case received national media attention and led to legislative efforts in Maryland and other states to prohibit suspending students for having imaginary and toy guns.
School official have denied the family's attempts to have the suspension removed from Joshua's school record, prompting an appeal heard Tuesday by a school system-appointed hearing examiner, The Baltimore Sun reported.

NINE years old, and he basically made a gun-shaped cookie, and they want to brand him for life????
This is plain nuts.
The school is Psycho.
Just imagine the uproar from school educrats if the kid had gnawed his Pop Tart into the shape of....(brace yourselves)...A CROSS!!!!!
Too bad parents don’t teach kids to ask intrusive adults:
“Don’t you have something better to do?”
I didn’t put up with this kinda crap when I was in high school back in the early 70’s. If they had been doing this sort of thing back then, I’d have walked into one of my classrooms as we were all arriving for class, grabbed a piece of chalk (us older guys know what that is), drawn a tow foot long gun on the chalk board, and under it, quoted the Beatles: “Happiness is a warm gun”.
If they tried to do anything about it I’d threaten to sue due to my first amendment rights being clearly violated.
Smiling, always smiling. I’d have also called them ignorant and gutless idiots. To their faces.
I can say this because I actually did that sort of thing back then, sans threatening lawsuits.
Why are we shocked? The drug nazis will murder you for not obeying their medical choices!
All the “school authorities” that aren’t humbling admitting that their behavior was ridiculous need to be tied to posts and whipped.
And in other news.....

The parents are to blame here for sending their kid to a government school. Period. Full stop. I have zero sympathy for people who willingly and eagerly do this to their children. They deserve all the grief they are wallowing in right now.
When pop tarts are outlawed only outlaws will have pop tarts
Clear proof that the fascist’s anti-gun propaganda has taken root, and is working.
Eeeeeek, a cookie gun!
“There was enough disruption to cause a neighbors attention to be drawn to see what was happening.”
Don’t look Ethel...but it was too late.
Young boys are acting like young boys.Young teachers cant handle this and deem the kid as having a perceived disorder when all that is happening is the young boy is being a Young Boy.
This is all part of the pusifacation of america brought on by the radical womens movement that would like to transform young boys into what they feel young boys should be.A pusssy
Moms against guns is an extension of this crap
