First lady Michelle Obama announced Wednesday the launch of a nationwide philanthropic effort to raise millions of dollars to help military families receive the support they need.

Under the Philanthropy-Joining Forces Impact Pledge, more than 30 organizations are promising to raise $102 million for military families to help with things such as improving schools on military bases and helping families transition when a service member returns home. This is in addition to $62 million in commitments that exist.

"Right now we are in a pivotal moment for our military families and our country," Obama said at an event at the American Red Cross, noting that after 13 years, the war in Afghanistan will be ending.

Obama said America cannot forget its military families.

Heck, just 1/2 the money from her vacations could more then fund all of this.

Tax dollars for lazy people but none for wounded veterans.

Thats just how they roll.

This is just a setup to take another vacation.

Why not fix the VA? You act so big on health care.

“Right now we are in a pivotal moment for our military families and our country,” Obama said

True

But solely due to the failure of goverment to manage the vast dollars taken from Americans.

I’ll bet that she doesn’t even ask her college buddies who took over half a billion dollars to develop the Obamacare website that doesn’t work. No, they are liberals who are free only with other people’s money.

They are trying to use charity to cover up for their failure to treat veterans with dignity and the respect that those veterans earned.

She can keep it.

This vet doesn’t want to owe her a thing

Better yet add up what she spent on six years of vacays publicize it, and match it out of hubby’s salary ($420,000 per year). That would be about $50 million, and would keep them in debt, if they were in any sense legitimate.

Why is she announcing this? That should be Hagel’s job. Maybe they don’t trust him to stay on script. It would be most unfortunate if Hagel ‘mistakenly’ told the truth in a way that cannot be papered over. Clapper used to do this on a regular basis, blurt out something that confirmed everyone’s suspicions about the President.

Yeah, that’s the ticket. Get service members and their familes to see themselves as victims and give them a bigger government teat to suckle on so they will be sure to vote for more of this, via Democrat candidates, in future elections.

Of the pledged 102 million how much will go to the vets that mac daddy and his sock puppets have been f’ing and how much will end up in mac daddies numerous off shore accounts?

Mac Daddy = 75%

Administrators for the fund = 20%

Vets = 5%

I don’t care if she is doing this to get brownie points. I don’t care if this is somebody else’s idea. I don’t care why.

This is a worthy cause and the families can use the money. Not going to bash this one, unless she screws up somehow.

As a veteran let me say: I don't want Michelle's charity. Support the troops through the normal budget process and quit wasting money on Obama phones and endless trips and parties.

Amen, brother! If her husband had been doing his damned job, maybe veterans wouldn’tt need so much “assistance.” The Phoenix VA scandal would be a good place to start.
