Vox Mocked for Income Inequality Interview at Expensive Bar Serving $16 Cocktails
NewsBusters ^ | April 30, 2014 | P.J. Gladnick

There are so many things to mock about General Electric Vox from the fact that there is almost no Vox Populi (i.e. reader's comments) in Vox except for a narcissistic story celebrating itself after just three weeks on the web to Sarah Kliff reporting today with a straight face about how the White House considers that rising health care spending means ObamaCare is working. Perhaps the most hilarious thing about Vox so far is an interview by Vox's Matthew Yglesias of the new hero of the Left who wrote a book decrying capitalism, Thomas Piketty. So what was so funny about that interview? It took place at the bar of the St. Regis Hotel, close to the White House, which serves $16 cocktails.

Sonny Bunch of the Washington Free Beacon exposes this in a way (and photos such as the one you see here)  to make you burst out laughing enough to spill a Remy Martin Louis XIII drink:

Back I in college, I once had a friend bring Thunderbird all the way from ghetto Pittsburgh just to taste.

The most vile disgusting substance I've ever tasted in my life. And that includes chemicals not made for consumption.

A few days later my GF at the time poured some thinking it was regular white wine. After one big gulp, she was on the floor shaking and vomiting. She ended up missing a period right after and thought she was pregnant. We think it was the T-bird...

Yep. It got quite a review at BumWine.com. A partial quote, "The undisputed leader of the five in foulness of flavor, we highly discourage drinking this ghastly mixture of unknown chemicals unless you really are a bum."

Well, I thought it was a positive review...

OMW! I had to go to the article to look for that photo because I figured it just could not really be the guy in question.

There was a short-lived brand in the early 70’s called Smoky Mountain wines. Various fruit flavors. True rotgut. But I guess those do not make the picture as they do not stand the test of time like MD 20/20.

The positive thing is that it only costs $2.50 for a liter and each swig gets you wrecked.

I’m fairly certain it is a mix of bad tap water, industrial alcohol, corn syrup and a touch of sour grape juice.

It was so nasty that it made “Steel Reserve” taste like water.
