Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling reiterated to Fox News Wednesday that the team "is not for sale," likely signaling a looming legal battle with the NBA should his fellow owners try to force a sale over Sterling's racist remarks.

Probably not but an entertaining thought nonetheless.
most likely the other NBA owners who comprise the board of governors are adopting the politically correct line in public but privately are reluctant to be forced into a ‘sterling must sell’ posture.
they are rightfully thinking if sterling can be forced to sell for something that was said in a private phone conversation, then any one of them could be next for any spurious reason.
this is a very slippery slope and they are rightfully concerned that they are riding a tiger on this one.
THIS IS A GREAT SOLUTION!!!!!
It’s a tar baby.
The Tar-Baby is a fictional character in the second of the Uncle Remus stories published in 1881; it is a doll made of tar and turpentine used to entrap Brer Rabbit. The more that Brer Rabbit fights the Tar-Baby, the more entangled he becomes.
In modern usage, tar baby refers to any sticky situation that is only aggravated by additional contact.
Yes, if I recall correctly I was at the private homes of several owners and I heard some of the worst talk! LOL
lol...you didnt do any taping did you ?
maybeeeee......
That may not be what he said, but it is what the players and advertisers heard.
However, they might be able to try to get him on:
" ... failing to or refusing to fulfill contractual obligations ... in such a way as to affect the Association or its Members adversely ..." Its in the Bylaws ...
That being said, Mark Cuban cautioned that, while he fully supportd the Commissioner's decision, this is a slippery slope.
Imagine if LeBron James was taped in private saying that all the Jews should have been exterminated during WWII? Does HE then get a lifetime ban ???
No LeBron would get some “time off” and make a full “confession” about how wrong he was. Be back to dunkin BBalls in no time.
From the transcript, you could also characterize it as asking his former girlfriend not to parade around her new boyfriends at his place of business.
in the meantime, somewhere david stern is sitting in a comfortable chair holding a glass of chablis thinking “i got out of that mess just in time. someone up there really likes me.”
She’s also done this suing the former girlfriend to get back the gifts routine before...
Looks like they all three went to the same high school!
Don and Rocky graduated in 1952, and V-Dot, aka Maria Vanessa Perez, in 2000. Too funny!
Don Tokowitz == Donald Sterling.
That’s strange. Supposedly V. was from Tucson. They showed a photo of where she and her mother lived.
Think of this -
In today’s America, a man can be divested of private property because of things he said in private.
Chew on that a bit.
Looks like he isn’t laying down.
My hope is that Stern comes to Phoenix and has a giant Saguaro fall on him. He cost the Suns the 2007 NBA championship. Him and his crooked ref.
Nahhhh...I’m not bitter at all....
On the other hand, the value of the team will never be higher than it is now.
You’re talking about a team with few die-hard fans....right now there are mostly bandwagon fans because the Lakers suck so much right now.
