This bill DOES NOT confer citizenship. Rather it acknowledges the mutual desire that those who were brought to this country before the age of legal accountability and desire to serve this country in uniform should have an opportunity to do so.
And I agree with that. If people are willing to serve, that goes a long way with me. My problem is with this constant assertion that our system is broken. I don’t agree with that. Are there things that could need a tweak or two? Yes, as there are with many of our systems, or any system for that matter. I am a huge fan of Gowdy. I just have grown weary of the whole “broken” thing. There is “broken” and then there are “areas which need improvement.”
