Eleanor Holmes Norton is the Democrats non-voting congressional observer from the District of Columbia. You may remember her as the genius who claimed that people didnt know they had to sign up for ObamaCare because evil Republicans had convinced everyone it had been repealed.
Well, Democrats, congratulations. Your brain trust is at it again. This is a woman you actually elected and shes dropped another nugget of wisdom in your laps. An incensed Ms. Eleanor Norton wants everyone to know that the Iraq war was perhaps the most catastrophic war of the 20th century.
Heres the clip:

Poster Girl for the total failure of the government school system.
That is so last century.
It doesn't. But it does have to do with her 69 IQ.
Per her web site, she is a “tenured law professor”.
I don’t believe that she actually has one IQ point for every year I have been on the planet, that sounds too high.
It says more about the constituents that elect her than it says about her. There are idiots in every district in American, not every district in America will elect them to public office.
What can be expected from someone who thinks she’s living in the 19th Century and just got freed from the plantation.
GHW Bush’s war to free Kuwait from the invasion by Saddam Hussain?
[Poor ole gal is confused. Aging can be rough.]
The personification of an Affirmative Action Jackson
Thank God she’s not allowed to vote
At the House committee hearings yesterday, where even Elijah Cummings fell silent, Delegate Norton trembled on the edge of declaring that the real reason for these hearings is because Republicans control the House and a black man is President.
I at least thought Ms. Norton smarter than, say, Sheila Jackson Lee. Oh, well.
The Iraq war took place in both centuries, unless you can show me where the United States Senate ratified an armistice after the 1991 truce (Hint; you can’t) so in a way she is only half as stupid as you are thinking.
Another failure of Clinton. Keeping an open ended war on pause.
“It doesn’t. But it does have to do with her 69 IQ.”
It is THAT high?, Color me astounded.
“Thank God shes not allowed to vote”
All democrats should be non-voting observers.
Perhaps this quarter-wit was referring to Desert Storm commencing in 1990 and ending in 1991. I believe the US lost 245 valiant warriors, tragic surely but ten times more were lost at Pearl Harbor.
She’s an idiot. That’s being kind.
Bear in mind that the voters of her district may have elected her as the "Smartest Woman in our district". That may explain a lot.
She’s a 20th century dunce.
Guess she forgot the Blackhawk Down incident.
On day one, Harry Reid was on the Senate floor saying the war was lost. The Left did its level best to demoralize this nation and any semblance of accomplishment to do good.
The Economist asks, ‘What will America fight for?’ I say there’s nothing left because of the Progressive agenda.
No, Ms. Holmes is a catastrophe of both the 20th century and the 21st century.
I wouldn’t call it catastrophic. I kind of liked Iran and Iraq kicking the bleep out of each other.
And the competition for the dumbest Democrat in Congress heats up
Yale law school graduate
Typical CBC moron.
We have just over 3,500 combat deaths in Iraq, with 4,500 if we include other US military deaths there. A thoroughly biased site https://www.iraqbodycount.org/ claims 188,000 dead total, including civilians.
We had just over 30,000 combat deaths in the Battle of Chancellorsville alone. 620,000 died in the Civil War (War of Northern Aggression/War Between the States) overall.
Operation Overlord lost approximately 2,500 in one day. Total deaths from WW2 would be around 50 million to more than 80 million, depending on definitions and sources used.
Eleanor Holmes Norton is monumentally stupid to even make such an absurd statement. The Iraqi War may have been a mistake and was certainly conducted stupidly, especially over the past five years, but it is a trivial historical blip nowhere near the most catastrophic war in our history, and it was not during the 20th century at all (starting in 2003).
The operation concluded in 1991. But only with a temporarily cease fire, never a treaty ratified by the senate until recently.
Incredible stupidity tolerated by the United States public through five presidents.
Despite the fact that this nit-wit has confused her centuries, the most catastrophic war has been waged in both the 20th and 21st centuries. This is the war Democrats declared on American citizens starting roughly a century ago by Woodrow Wilson and re-upped by FDR, HST, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and the current Balloon-Head-In-Chief.
She seems remarkably ignorant. Also remarkably stupid.
...the Democrats non-voting congressional observer from the District of Columbia. You may remember her as the genius who claimed that people didnt know they had to sign up for ObamaCare because evil Republicans had convinced everyone it had been repealed. Now now, in her defense, she got this information from Kerry, and he heard President Nixon say it in his holiday season broadcast in 1968. No, seriously, she was just discussing this with Zero when she ran into him in one of the 57 states. They also discussed how Islamic contributions to the sciences are primarily responsible to that US flag our astronauts planted on Mars. He later sent her copies of those emails which aren't about Benghazi.
There’s a very good reason DC has a ‘Delegate’ and not a voting Representative. Hard to imagine a city that size, and this is the best they can do?
It has to do with ‘she’s a democrat’ and the press won’t go after her for this stupidity.
Do you know of ONE Republican who could speak such garbage and get away with it? And trust me, she WILL get away with it.
Don’t get her started on the time the Germans bombed Pearl Bailey.
She belittles the men and woman of the 57 states that died in that war.
I don’t mind an ignoramus, but I don’t kindly suffer a pretentious ignoramus in political office.
