BUNKERVILLE, NV - An emotional crowd gathered for a town hall meeting on Thursday evening in Bunkerville.
Residents and council members praised militia members gathered there in support of embattled rancher Cliven Bundy, but had nothing but vitriol for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie and the local and national media.
"The day the militia [came] was the day I felt safe again in Nevada," one meeting attendee said.
The meeting was standing-room only. City council members had harsh criticism for the media's take on the standoff between Bundy and the BLM.
"I heard things said down there. And then when it came out on the air it was a completely different animal," Bunkerville Councilman Duane Magoon said.
"Tell the whole truth. Don't spin things to get your ratings," another council member added.
One council member criticized Gillespie, saying he's been AWOL in Bunkerville.
"I'm really disappointed in our sheriff for not being out here to protect the citizens who are out here," he said.
One after another, Bunkerville residents criticized the BLM, calling it an example of overreaching government.
"It's insane and a way overreach of their power. They should be held accountable," a meeting attendee said.
"I called Metro, and their exact words to me were, It's the BLM and Cliven Bundy's problem,' - and I should take it up with one of those two. There are my children and my community, and if Metro doesn't have the guts to come out and protect us what are you here for? What are we paying you guys for?" another attendee said.
Despite reports of intimidation by armed militia, those gathered for the town hall had nothing but praise for them.
"I want to tell every one of them militia, thank you. Because not one of our government officials, not one of our sheriffs or Metro would have saved us that day. They didn't save us that day," an attendee said.
Meanwhile, Bundy and his supporters plan to file criminal reports against the BLM on Friday morning at the office of the Clark County Sheriff's Department.
Bundy's complaints include assault, rangers blocking access to public land and rangers impersonating police officers, among several others.
I support Bundy and the militia.
He’s not spotless, but he’s a heck of a lot better then the spineless nothings who make up the current GOP.
There's a page from the media. Our media "spinning" things? Noooo, say it ain't so!
It’s my take the BLM isn’t done.
The one thing the BLM had going for them, is they weren’t stupid enough to attack a farm where the residents were armed.
They sure had their way with the cattle though.
And then they shot and buried them.
“rangers impersonating police officers”,,,, I had NOT heard about before
isnt that Still a CRIME???
There was some, d@amned report that said the neighbors didn’t sopport. Propaganda, no doubt.
There’s another that there’s a “civil war” within the militias over drones or some such.
Didn’t some ‘Rat politician claim that the militia were frightening the local children?
No modern gov will tolerate a modern para military force in their country. Branch Davidians were in trouble not because they owned 200+ rifles, but they owned 200+ rifles of the same type, ala armed para military capability. Gov will use any of the 10,000+ local, state, fed regs to justify a raid. For the Branch Davidians it was reports of child abuse after the ATF failed to prove the BD obtained rifles illegally (Koresh brother had an FFL to buy the guns). Judge ordered ATF to let the BD go and return all the legal rifles seized. That got under the Fed skin, and the BD were definitely on the gov crap list.
Same tactic is being used by Fed and MSM. Reports that the town did not want the militia on Bundy’s ranch started to surface in the MSM. Waco II????? Remember what is driving the feds crazy is an armed tactical para military unit exists in NV. The feds do not want such a unit to start forming and spreading. Better to start something and kill 100 militiamen then wait till there are 10,000 in the country. That is how modern states think no matter who is in charge. If push comes to shove, GWB will order a violent raid no quicker then Clinton ordered his on the BD compound.
More info here Santelli reports on it. Says overwhelming local support for Bundy.
Sheriff urged to clamp down on armed militiamen around Bundy ranch
How is he not spotless? What’s his great crime that disables his God-given rights? And... What is the BLM’s great act of valor that indemnifies its thuggish behavior? Spotless? Let he who is without sin utter a single word against this courageous man.
It is very probable that if the BLM had fired on the Bundy crowd that the LVPD and Clark County Sheriffs would have joined in.
Congratulations to the local TV station for running this excellent report on the town meeting.
I haven’t heard anything to make me think that Bundy is anything but a good man. The attempt to make him look like a racist was nothing but bilge water. About the only thing he can be accused of is using the English language he grew up with, instead of going along with every Orwellian change in the language that the left tries to impose on us. And why shouldn’t he? He’s not a politician running for office.
A lot of Freepers blamed him for giving the press a chance to attack him. Well, it’s not his fault if they lie and misrepresent everything he said.
I’m sorry I probably shouldn’t have said that.
I have no problem with the guy. Zero.
I was speaking on behalf of some who may think they have something about him, which is embarrassing.
Heck no. I support him.
Things are going to have to stay like they are now. If the Citizen Militia pulls out Bunkerville/Bundy’s are going to be the next Mt. Carmel (what most call Waco)
No turning back now.
The feds flinched.
Patriot’s CAN NOT FLINCH.
There was a conference call # that was trying to keep things cool. Listened it for a couple of nights.
My tour starts on the 18th. I agree that this is not over, and I know reinforcements are going to be needed.
If the militia does move on to other areas and the Feds do move in on Bundy Ranch it will be one long, long drive back to their offices. Do they really think they will sneak in and attack then sneak out again without anyone knowing about it?
I hope that you are correct. Because the only thing that I put past the Federal Government doing is doing something good and decent. I don’t trust them for a second. Nor believe them.
I would say your 10,000 in the country in grossly UNDER estimated.
I think people are reading through all the crap and seeing the bigger picture. This never was about collecting delinquent grazing fees or protecting desert turtles. You don’t send out a whole SWAT type unit in those numbers armed to the teeth to collect fees or move cattle. This was clearly about the clearing the land for a specific reason; apparently at the direction of someone calling in favors. I hear that they are investigating it. The MSM is getting shut on the Benghazi hearings and there’s no doubt why. The WH is probably scared $hitless about what the MSM would report on the administration’s real knowledge about the situation and their failure to act. I think 0’s days as an MSM sweetheart crush are coming to an end. You know people would enjoy some good old reporting on Harry Reid’s connection to the Bundy Ranch matter. If I were a reporter I would contact the new BLM chief, Neil Konze (who used to work for Reid) pronto and find out exactly when they last spoke and the content of their conversation. I imagine my calls would go unreturned for some time. I’d probanly have to catch him at home...
I don’t see another ground ops happening from the fedz.
I’m more concerned about Midnight Hellfire Drone strikes from 30,000 ft.
or a well placed, fully loaded KC-135 or C-130 Tanker “falling out of the sky in just the right place”
I put NOTHING past zer0 & dingy Inc.
Yeah, like missing at least 2 more “0’s” maybe 3.
And when it happens look foe the media to scream “Hidden ammunition and bomb making materials stockpiled by militias mysteriously blow up”.
And under Article 4 of the U.S. Constitution, the creature of the States—the federal government—is tasked with protecting the states from invasion and domestic insurrection ... not with invading the states and rustling & shooting livestock while heavily armed and acting as debt collectors.
Not a smidgeon of surprise there. I knew the media was lying.
Yeah, the new Democrat Representative from Nevada (new district).
Me, too. With the BATFE stepping in and taking over the investigation, they'd call it a "gas explosion", and make sure no one found any evidence to the contrary in the bulldozed compound.
“Compound”=any two buildings, with a strand of barbed wire within a mile or two, at least for media purposes.
I do. They’ll come in with warrants for individuals and try to break the core group if the last few paragraphs of this article is accurate:
another warning here:
Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie has tried to keep Las Vegas police out of the dispute.
The I-Team has learned that those who were involved in threatening the lives of officers are not off the hook, even if it takes a year or more to resolve.
The agency responded to the filing of police reports with a wry statement.
“We welcome Mr. Bundy’s new interest in the American legal system,” spokesman Craig Leff wrote.
there is also a public opinion counter-movement trying to get started (by three guesses who) up in Reno, trying to pit the north against the south I suppose:
Never saw anything dropped so fast.
>> Hes not spotless
In the sense he refused to pay for the crazing fees exacted by fiat?
This is the reason why you need to know where your local cops live. If they think they can get inside your mind by making threats then we need to be ready to take action against them.
Walk up to one who you know is an a-hole and say something like, "Hi, are you still living over on Main Street? You know that new Harley you just bought, you should have got your wife a new car instead." That'll rattle his cage, I guarantee you.
Get that message across to LV Metro and I will stop posting replies like Post #40.
The problem this time around is that the Feds won’t be swooping in on some cult but a bunch of god fearing patriots who are also combat ready. It will touch off the long overdue reboot.
There should be an investigation of every land deal involving Harry Reid or members of his family. There is a dirty rat in Nevada and his name is Harry Reid. That dirty bastard belongs in prison.
Due to some strange history they are essentially one and the same. Sheriff Gillespie in in charge of the Metro (LVPD) and someone has reported that the Sheriff's men imbedded within the BLM "Team" had orders allowing them to fire.

There should be an investigation of all Land transactions between the BLM and anybody else in Clark County over the last 30 years.
