When Obama said he would "fundamentally transform" the United States, few anticipated that the plan involved destroying the minds of young people through addictive substances. But after the expenditure of $250 million by Obama backer George Soros on behalf of the marijuana legalization movement, we are seeing the results, especially in Colorado. The new website www.legalizationviolations.org is documenting the fallout and the damage.

What caught my eye was the “hash explosions”. People cooking the stuff soaked in butane on their kitchen stoves in their apartment buildings to make it stronger.

“Here, old my pipe and watch this.”

And our son-in-law moved the family to CO back when our grandsons were 6 and 4 - in 1995 - because of the ‘gang crime’ creeping here into Ventura County from Los Angeles, according to our then son-in-law. (HE divorced the family soon after moving to CO) - -
Far as I can tell, it’s a very slow creep.

MEANwhile, Colorado has suffered Columbine, a family cousin was murdered in her gift store in Arapahoe County (crime never solved), and what was the fairly recent Columbine-like crap??
And now - pot legalized - - -
Sure pray our 2 subsequent CO-born grandkids keep their distance.

So the Feds are pressuring banks not to deal with the legal pot shops, forcing them to deal in cash only. Then they accuse them of “money laundering” because they make large cash transactions.

And BTW, they’re doing to ammo retailers too.

The Feds actually have removed restrictions for banks and marijuana businesses, but - and I was shocked by this recently, because I figured that was a done deal - banks won’t do business with these shops.

I would. How do I open a bank? We have lived in a litigious society for far too long. Show me the money.

Quite fascinating that such a beautiful state is managing to generate such nuts. Yeah, a kid went into a school recently and did kill one girl. Another boy, I don’t think I saw the news on here, committed suicide in a high school by pouring oil/gasoline all over himself in the cafeteria and lighting himself on fire.

And don’t forget the Aurora shooter.

Greeley is the town I am quite fascinated by. “Rural” town has some pretty interesting crime. One of the stories made it onto one of those crime shows - woman married to cop having affair with another cop, kills wife of other cop. Man she is married to supports her.

I think it is so bad because all of the crazies that made east/west coast states so bad moved here and have doubled down on their insanity.

Oh yeah, the Denver area has one of the largest mosques in the US (and one of the biggest Jewish temples). One muslim from the Denver area and his dad were arrested for plotting a terror attack in the NE somewhere.

Have you been following the story on Operation Choke Point? It seems the Feds don’t need a law to pressure banks not to do business with legal businesses they don’t like.

I had not seen that article. And here we were so worried about those religious zealots taking away our freedoms (i.e. W).

There are quite a few of the pro-legalization types right here on FR. Anyone who thought legalization would blunt the power and reach of the cartels is delusional. This is just the beginning.

Marijuana Prohibition has another 10 years, tops. Y’ all will get over it, or not, I don’t care.

Why would cartels bother growing/selling a plant that is supposed to cost less than basil? They are not in the farming business.

Of course prohibition and high taxes do cartels a favor by creating an instant insane profit margin on weeds and eliminating legitimate competititon. Illegal pot is often bought for more than its weight in gold!

All plants should be unrestricted and untaxed for personal growing/use. Since plants are so easy to grow, all you do is create a black market. Just like alcohol tax and prohibition pretty much gave birth to true organized crime. Government GAVE them a profit margin on a platter.

Since drugs are thousands of times more profitable than booze, I believe the cartels have infiltrated every major government on Earth to continue this charade. The WOD has been a scam for a long time to simply eliminate competition and keep prices high.

But, but, but,.....we were promised that legalization would destroy the cartels!

How could libertarians have been wrong?

Did legalizing alcohol get rid of the organized crime created by prohibition? No, like the Federal agencies that were created to fight the now rich criminals, they moved on to other lucrative endeavors, like the new exciting field of drug prohibition.

I don't think anyone would argue that the cartels were created by prohibition, but getting rid of them will take a bit more than legalization as they will just move on to another criminal enterprise.
