Senator: Non-English Speakers Qualify for Disability Benefits More Quickly

The inability to speak English is now considered a determining factor to receive federal disability benefits.

Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) sent a letter obtained exclusively by the Free Beacon to Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration Carolyn Colvin on Thursday, raising concerns regarding revelations that individuals who cannot speak English are fast-tracked for disability approval.

“I write to express my concerns about the expanding number of individuals now qualified for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and to raise a specific issue, the basis for many of these individuals’ disability classification, where the inability to speak English is a determinative factor,” Sessions said.

There are commercials from lawyers’ groups all day long on daytime TV. You know, daytime when those entitlement leeches wake up around noon (it upsets them any earlier than that) and turn on the tube before heading out to Walmart or wherever to get their junk food on their EBT cards?

These lawyers teach them and urge them to apply for SS disability and help them get it. The Cochran Firm is one of the most prominent.

My guess is that the government has hired untold numbers of Spanish speaking employees whose job it is to process only non-English applications. Probably lots of other language employees to who don’t have as much to do and can process the applications more quickly.

Last time I did any extensive searching on SSA.gov and related sites, I did some number crunching and realized that over 25% of SSA expenditures were for SSDI and SSI. (They don’t fund SSI, but they administer the process. SSI is for those who don’t qualify for SSDI, SS payments because they haven’t worked enough to qualify. In other words, SSI is just another in a long line of names/programs for WELFARE.)

This was at the beginning of Obama’s first term and my best bet is this number is probably up to 30% or maybe even higher.

I generally like Sessions. On the whole, he’s been a good steward I think, but I can recall a couple of times he’s done some pretty squirrely stuff.

Because the US State Department and Immigration agencies are not working in our interests. They are working to give the Democrat party an inexhaustible supply of new Democrat voters.

Obama's "latino enrollment" scam is a ruse to get votes by putting illegals into O/Care. NOTE WELL healthcare.gov is also a voter registration site. Tricky Democrats can easily plug in enrollees into their voter rolls.....and count them as votes on election day.
