Putin’s vengeful plan to take back the old Russian empire
nypost.com ^ | May 3, 2014 | Ralph Peters

Putin has become a Great-Russian nationalist, a bigoted throwback to the days before the Bolsheviks arrived. His intent is to regain all the lands that once belonged to the czars.

When President Obama declared in March that Putin “has no ideology,” he betrayed his ignorance of both history and Putin. Who’s briefing this guy?

Putin’s ideology is nationalism, the only belief system that may have killed as many human beings as Marxism. And when a “post-modern” talk-talk America president faces a Russian leader who’s a man of action and whose concept of nationhood refers to the late 19th century, our cherished negotiations merely seal the deal on what Putin’s already taken (anyone really think he’ll give back Crimea and flee from eastern Ukraine?).

Obama talks, Putin kills.

And make no mistake, Putin truly believes he’s entitled to reclaim Ukraine and a great deal more. In his view, independent capitals from Warsaw (yes, Warsaw) to Bishkek are integral and natural parts of the Russian imperium. He regards them as property stolen from its rightful owner: Moscow.

The Putin Doctrine gives Moscow the right, in his view, to intervene wherever ethnic Russians or merely Russian speakers are “threatened.”

Your initial comment that Sunday Schools were closed down in Russia was just a little narrow imo. I’m sure that those denominations which have the required permission to teach have no problems operating Sunday Schools.

If Russia doesn’t want certain protestant denominations whose origins are from foreign countries, there’s little you or anyone else can do about it.

The idea of certain denominations using religion to undermine a government shouldn’t come as a total surprise to you, should it? Don’t you wish the same applied to islam, which isn’t a religion but a cult bent on domination?

Freedom of religion is somewhat of a two-edged sword, as we are all discovering. Islam gets all the freedom, and we get nothing. Using religion as subversion is not going to be tolerated in Russia, and that might be a good thing in the long run.

Yes, Putin will beat back Islam from Russia’s shores.These Muslims of today once were allies of fascists whom communist Russia abhorred.That has not changed much. They merely wax more Islamofascist that they did in 1945 under the Grand Mufti of Palestine,Mohammed Amin al-Husseini , Hitlers ally.

Its a variant remake of the old Communist/Fascist war, but
we have NATO Euroweenies confusing the issue along with the USA’s lead Muslim, BH Obama.Putin will continue handing Obama his own arse for a very long time.

Russia’s continued low-level harassment of the Roman Catholic Church doesn’t fit within your theory. How can that be excused under the rubric of state security?

I’m no prophet, but the statements of the current Pope don’t instil any confidence in me, so take it or leave it and let Russia make its own decisions.
They are obviously quite happy with their Orthodox beliefs. Surely you’re not advocating that NATO acts in any way against Russia because the Vatican isn’t happy?

It’s bad enough the Tartar muslims threatened to bring their jihad fighters home from Syria if NATO didn’t do something to assist them to achieve autonomy in the Crimea.

NATO committed War Crimes in Libya. The only reason they have been unable to do the same in Syria is because you-know-who stood in their way.

The Tartar muslims want NATO to do for them what NATO did in Kosovo and Libya.

NOT THIS TIME.

Sides change. Meaning the totalitarian USSR is not what Russia is today, and Reagan’s USA is not what we have today. NATO and the EU are slime, and as usual, 0bastard’s foreign policy is wrong 100%. Even a stopped clock is right by accident twice a day.

excerpt:

After the meeting, Dzhemilev told VOA’s Russian service he feared Crimean Tatars could be the targets of violence under Russian rule, and he would like to see international peacekeepers deployed to Crimea.

“We have serious fears about what can happen there, and asked for the introduction of U.N. peacekeeping forces,” he said. “But since that is something decided by the U.N. Security Council, where Russia has the right to veto, this is quite unlikely.”

A second option, Dzhemilev said, would be to send in NATO forces, as was done in Kosovo.

WHO ARE THE CRIMEAN TARTARS?

....Some of the children of the deported—raised in Uzbekistan and now adults—have returned to become leaders. Refat Chubarov, head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, the representative body of the Tatars, has called on his people—there are now approximately 300,000 Tatars in Crimea—to peacefully boycott the referendum. Nevertheless, some Crimean Tatars have vowed to oppose secession, with force if necessary.

According to Western press reports, some Tatars fighting with the rebels in Syria have offered to return to join the cause...

The tribute to Solzhenitsyn and the inclusion of his works in the Russian curriculum really aught to tell us something.

It tells me a lot.

“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations.”

Kosovo independence: Russia warns of separatist storm
Christian Science Monitor ^ | February 20, 2008 | Fred Weir

Posted on 04 May 2014 02:51:18 PM by Mount Athos

Russian President Vladimir Putin charges that Western support for the newly declared state, torn from Serbia this week, is “immoral and illegal” behavior that will provoke a global storm of separatism and explode the international order.

~~~snip
[Mr. Dugin]”We should embrace the same double standards that the West practices,” he says. “Russia will crush separatism on its own territory even more drastically than before, while supporting pro-Russian separatists elsewhere. It will be easy to explain this to the Russian people. It’s the end of so-called morality-based foreign policy; now only power decides.”
Perhaps the Orthodox Church in Russia doesn’t see homosexuality as a religious right?
Rev. Nancy Ellett Allison has joyfully officiated same-sex marriages in her corner of the conservative South since 2006.
“It is just a delight to be able to help these couples celebrate their lives together and work with them to craft their vows,” said Allison, her bright voice laced with a twang.
