In the mid 1980s, politicians convinced the citizens in state after state that lotteries would supply the needed cash for their education systems. The voters couldnt resist the campaigns that promised to improve the education of their children. As of today, 44 states are involved in some sort of lottery where a portion of the earnings are used specifically for the education of their children. Unfortunately, the expected jackpot never materialized for the purpose it was intended. Instead we learned that state after state has been caught using the funds for programs other than education. Even if all the money was used as allocated, it would fall substantially short of the promises made to the voters.
Politicians also made the promise that the children would be the big winners if the people just voted to legalize gambling in their states. So in state after state the voters either voted for initiatives or elected officials who passed...

That’s what I thought. Perhaps the photo is so memorable because of the great story you had to go with it!
I have been reading the “The Revolution Was”, that is at the URL in your tagline. It is profoundly similar to what the left is doing under Obama.
I am going to post it to a blog I have that I never use for reference and safe keeping.
I’ll send you the link when I get it up so you can refer to it and grab it to re-post at FR whenever you feel the need.
Thanks for the subliminal suggestion.
So you know what they mean when they say they would disarm us “for the children”.
I voted yes for the lottery here in California years ago............I voted yes anyway, because people want to gamble and I would prefer that the money was at least wasted in California rather than in Nevada. YOU CAN'T LEGISLATE MORALITY.
I think, no I know you are wrong. You know why I know your wrong MEB? Because we legislate morality all the time. What you believe is a lie born from hell and taught to humans by evil people who cannot stand the Christian morals.
Look what they did with abortion. Before Roe vs Wade became the law of the land, 99.99% of Americans were against abortion. 40 years after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it, we cannot get enough US Senators elected to get the judges appointed that will stand with Americans who want to stop it.
We legislate morality all the time. It just comes down to who's morality we are legislating.
Today, in California schools we have laws that have been legislated to allow young grade school children to be taught and encouraged to practice homosexuality. We also have a law in California that states if a parent or psychologist tries to change a teens decision to be gay, they can either remove the child from the home, have the parent convicted of child endangerment and sent to jail, or both which would probably happen.
It is but who's morality we are legislating. We are having depravity legislated in American that allows influences the next generation of children, just as the current adults have been influenced by past legislation.
I promise you this. In 5 years the vast majority of children in the state of California who will be in their teens will have practiced homosexuality or lesbianism because the state of California has legislated their morality into the public school system.
Back in the 1970's, the states legislated that schools will teach sex education, eventually they legislated it to be taught to grade school children. Because the left's morality has been legislated into the brains of the children while they attended public school, less than 5% of Americans are virgins when they get married, and the rate of STD's has skyrocketed among teens.
Still think you cannot legislate morality?
I'll tell you what, the left knows you can. They just want to be sure it's their morality instead of the morality of Christians. So they legislated their morality into a system that will train our children into becoming Socialist, hedonistic, sluts, queers, lesbians, and atheists.
Still think you cannot legislate morality? I think I would rather have the morality of the 50's when we knew we could. Even if it wasn't perfect, at least we weren't living in a fascist state that legislates all the morals of hell into our society.
That's a fact.
You need to understand the difference between “morally wrong” and “wrong.”
Abortion is “morally wrong.” That means you have no right to legislate against it.
Racial discrimination is “wrong.” That means we must legislate against it.
Go it?
Then EVERY law is useless!
Are you still killing your unborn? -- GOD |
I believe you are very right. A man with no core beliefs will accept any thing to fill the void. It doesn’t seem to matter how abhorrent to our formerly sane society it might be. Nazi death camps, Russian pits filled with executed bodies, Chinese lining up people against walls, Muslims beheading Christians and on and on it goes.
When a society loses its belief that man is not an animal then we are just another animal to be slaughtered. That is the idea behind Roe V. Wade, born homosexual, the state stealing the authority of parents over their children, the power of the state over the individual, we have allowed the government to create generations that are no longer truly human. We know how this will turn out.
Silly me, What was I thinking?

**The voters couldnt resist the campaigns that promised to improve the education of their children. **
One thing I voted against.
It hasn’t worked has it?
At least I am not seeing any improvements in public education.

>>We legislate morality all the time. It just comes down to who’s morality we are legislating.<<
This is a keeper. The sardonic irony is the way the the left makes a big to-do about something as “outrageous” & then proceeds to do exactly that. “Keep your hands off my body” & then, 0bamacare. “Save the whatever”...UNLESS it’s “green energy” that’s killing it. (That’s okay) It goes on & on.
It’s a con game.
Huh????
High praise for a great post, my friend.
Wow, thanks. I am honored.
