The Sinn Féin president was freed at 5.45pm on Sunday from the serious crimes suite at Antrim police station.
He was being questioned about the murder in 1972 of widow Jean McConville as well as IRA membership.

Slightly ridiculous proceedings, after 4 days in custody it seems they have no evidence to hold him.
Or Sinn Fein threatened to derail the GFA if they didn’t let him go...
That would be a predictable response - and so it should have been thought out in advance.
I believe they have evidence to hold and question him, however they do not have enough evidence to convict him. The evidence is tape recordings of two very high level IRA people talking candidly about the past. Both interviewees said Adams was involved with the death of Jean McConville and was the head of the IRA nutting squad that carried it out. Unfortunately for the prosecution, both of these people are dead, thus cannot be cross examined by the defense.
