Good for the Ukrainians.
These computer translators are horrible. Isn’t there someone out there that can do good translations in real time?
I bet our MRE’S came in handy.
I think we are going to see that the Russian forces have a glass jaw.
It’s like the fox and the rabbit. The fox is running for his dinner, but the rabbit is running for his life.

Exactly. It’s like the German superman stormtrooper fairy tale in WW2. We know how that turned out. There are so many parallels to WW2 in Ukraine. Scary.

This the same “great victory”?
SLOVYANSK, Ukraine Forces loyal to Ukraines interim government battled pro-Russian militiamen Monday in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slovyansk, and the Interior Ministry said four of its troops were killed and 30 wounded, the Associated Press reported.
I read the Washington Post. Post is not to be faulted, yet, I believe there is misinformation contained within article.
Russian psych-ops is strong.
But, slowly by word-of-mouth townspeople realize what is true & false. As will the world.
Case in point:
This is the latest post from pastor I have rec’d:
“Our children have returned from the Crimea, the Passover festival choirs were there united with Ukraine. The first thing that struck children - is that they -the children of Ukraine- feared. The second thing that struck -during Ukrainian song about her mother cried half the room, everyone started to believe their family and no longer fear began to love
Funny thing - making people propaganda.
In this case, it is obvious that the only witness of the church and church people about the humanity and divinity of love people can kill all the waves of hatred, fear and selfishness.
So the churches can not remain silent. Just like for humans to breathe naturally so the churches should be natural to testify the truth, be the beauty and majesty of the human person and the divine in everything.”
Time for Russia to move their troups in and desteroy the goons from the ukraine!
What is the truth, and who are the good guys in all of the Ukrainian situation?

Time for Russia to move their troups in and desteroy the goons from the ukraine!
Your are having a day dream. There are 1,000,000 people in Odesa alone. They aren’t going anywhere.
Putin has a problem now. A big one.
Dale Reed, I hope your comments was intended to be sarcasm The Ukraine people want their country to be free. Agree, there are different political views & ethnicity. But, in the U.S. we also have differing views: Democrat/ Republican; Liberal/conservative. Yet, we all are citizens & would unite
against Russian invasion.
Please pray that Ukraine will have a chance to develop
The British call the IRA terrorists, Gaddafi called the rebels in Libya terrorists, Assad calls the "rebels" there terrorists, Ukraine calls eastern Ukrainians using force to oppose them terrorists...
If the Civil War were today, Lincoln and his government would call the Confederacy terrorists.
“Terrorists”, the go-to propaganda term for every modern government dealing with domestic people opposed to them.
Would you prefer “foreign national unlawful combatant” instead of “terrorist”? Both are accurate so your semantic word games are meaningless.
The paid Russian trolls will be along in a moment to Putinize the comments.
The Fenian scum were terrorists. They went around shooting British government officials in the back and almost took out Maggie Thatcher in a bomb attack. When the Brits retaliated in kind against lower ranking IRA terrorists by shooting them on sight, the squeals of horror from these Russian-supplied stone killers had to be heard to be believed. If the Brits had persisted instead of backing off, they would have liquidated the IRA a long time ago.
New York Times Reporter Chivers was able to drive from Kramatorsk to Slovyansk this morning, after Rebels apparently recaptured the road.
CNN has finally arrived in Slovyansk, and are doing live shots. (How many weeks has this been going on?)
It can be officially called a “Civil War” now, I guess.
CNN reporting that several civilians were killed/injured this morning.
What do you think of the Russians allegedly importing more foreign nationals?
That will go over with the locals. Apparently the Russians find enough local villagers and bus station drunks to fight for the glory of the Donetsk Republic.
As I noted earlier this morning, The U.S. State Department is now PAYING for Pro-Kiev propaganda in Ukraine, under the guise of “Helping Journalists”.
There is disinformation from Kiev, from DC, and from Moscow.
The best you can do is compare ALL sources to the pics and video widely available, and make your own determination.
Chechens? Is that all you got? The Ukrainians aren’t going anywhere, FRiend.
“Apparently the Russians find enough local villagers and bus station drunks to fight for the glory of the Donetsk Republic.”
Several tweets this morning about a group of “Veterans of the Chechnya War” showing up last night in Slovyansk. Likely they are Russian volunteers. Slovansk is sitting on top of a huge Soviet-era Arsenal, so arming them shouldn’t be a problem.
The Odessa Massacre has upset the Russians, so crossing the border to volunteer wouldn’t be all that surprising.
As I noted earlier this morning, The U.S. State Department is now PAYING for Pro-Kiev propaganda in Ukraine, under the guise of Helping Journalists.
All these many weeks I have seen ZERO posts from you complaining about the Russian govermennt PAYING foreign nationals to conduct illegal warfare in Ukraine
You can’t discern the difference between transnational unlawful irregular warfare and a US govt PR program?
I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but there is no hope for you if you can’t see the difference there. One thing is important and one isn’t. It shouldn’t be a difficult issue to process. Bye
The ones that want to go with the EU need to be destroyed!
The EU itself needs to be destroyed!
Am picking up may be moving fighters out of Syria to Ukraine as well as Chechnians, who have been coming into Ukraine already.. Neighbor states sending people to support anti-Kiev people.
What a mess this is...
I’m sorry YOU don’t understand.
I can see Kiev organizing propaganda (Exactly WHO is EuromaidanPR, by the way), I can even see the Russians doing it, it is on their border, with their own kinsmen involved.
But Why is the U.S. State Department doing it with our own tax dollars??
So? You seem to be under the delusion that 1,000,000 people is a lot, when in reality it wouldn't take that many soldiers to invade an area of that population.
The Local Commander in Slovyansk is apparently a well-known Chechnya and Afghanistan Vet, and former Spetnaz Officer.
Given the situation, it wouldn’t be surprising if former vets came to support him. It is just a days drive for many, if they can get across the border, and it’s pretty much wide open.
THIS is what the pro-Kiev crowd should really be afraid of. A standard for the Pro-Russians to rally to. After Odessa, there are a LOT of p****d off Russians.
The Ukrainian government needs to get people loyal to the Ukrainian state organized. In the typical revolution, only several % of the population are active participants, based mainly on organization, motivation and some kind of funding source, so the participants can feed their families. If that several % are secessionists funded by Putin who see Ukraine as a Russian province, it will be that much harder for the Ukrainian government to take control. Putin has agents on the ground. An organized anti-secessionist campaign that gets hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians enrolled in the east and south will deter Putin from invading. Because if he sees that Ukrainians are fired up about keeping the country whole, he will probably calculate that any initial conventional victories will be followed by a steady drip of casualties, just like Iraq, that will cost Russia large sums of money and tens of thousands of dead, not to mention overshadow his reputation as a president who revived the Russian economy (mainly because he was president during a 20-year Chinese economic boom during which Chinese motor vehicle sales went from 2m to 20m a year).
The Russians are upset the Ukrainians defended themselves in Odesa. Too bad they didn’t just take the beat down like in Donetsk. Right? Now the Russians won’t be able to butcher them at their leisure as they have many times over history.
You act like this foreign national thing is a one way street. So what happens when war tourists arrive and start killing Russians?
It really doesn’t matter what you, I or the US DOS thinks. This is about the Ukrainians. They ain’t going anywhere. Millions of them. It’s becoming clear all Russia can do is create Chaos in Ukraine. To what end?
The Ukrainian government needs to get people loyal to the Ukrainian state organized.
Our FRiend Ivan can confirm but I believe the plan is to get rid of the useless Berkut and replace them with newly created regional self defense battalions. It’s just total chaos without a police force. Society breaks down.
The neighboring nations support Kiev. Even at their football games. You saw in that one video they wore yellow & Blue & heard them chanting Puti is a dou*** bag.
No, Russia is NOT supported by the ex-Russian occupied republics. For the Ukrainian speakers this video was just released https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpmkNUXDzzE#t=94
By the way, there is NO PROOF that the Pro-Ukraine crowd set fire in Odessa. Photos show they actually rescued these pro-separatist that had SHOT AT THEM!!!!
Check out yesterday post & photos. Actually, fires appeared before windows were broken, placement and appearance of bodies leave many questions previously dead? Fire set by pro-separatists to destroy evidence?
Russia WANTS to disrupt elections.
If this goes much further, it’ll be the most unnecessary war in recent history.
Terrorists are apparently admitting 20 KIA. UKR got some good intel from locals. That is critical.
The Brits were right. The pIRA were and are terrorists. You are no doubt aware of Gerry Adam’s recent arrest? Why do you think he was released with no charges? Threats to re-ignite ‘The Troubles’ from the ‘provos’! The ‘provo’ religion is nothing but blood and communism. They never got rid of all their guns, merely hid them.
Of course. They are fed Putin propaganda, they don't think for themselves, and they react to it.
A foreshadow of what will happen in this country after decades of propaganda targeted to make certain segments of our country pissed off.
And people think it's just happening over there.
I wish the Ukrainian people well and independence from a Russia tyranny as it will be a leading indicator what happens here.
And more than a few are posting on FR, right товарищ? I hope the FSB rewards you well for your efforts.
Putin has sent Chechens. I imagine that will go over well with the locals. UKR is getting some good intel from locals. They wouldn’t have been able to operate and lay a major smack down on Team FSB today without it.
He's also sending S. Ossetians too.
Putin did this in Georgia. He sent Muslim Chechens to do ethnic cleansing of Georgian Christians in S. Ossetia.
Georgia has a 4 million people. UKR 45 million. And Putin is using the same tactics?
So where is UKR supposed to send the Chechen body bags?
Putin is afloat in his own flatulence. He’s escalating the situation without understanding the dynamics of this new live stream/twitter/internet war.
I’m trying to be reasonable, and you just want to be an a**.
Not taking the MaidanPR propaganda at face value is “Working for the FSB?
I’m SURE you are quite the hit over at Dailykos, right?
Rescorla left Hayle in 1956 to join the British military. He enlisted in the British Army in 1957, training as a paratrooper with The Parachute Regiment and then serving with an intelligence unit in Cyprus during the EOKA Cypriot insurgency from 1957 to 1960. He then served as a paramilitary police inspector in the Northern Rhodesia Police (now the Zambia Police Service) from 1960 to 1963, experiences which made him a fierce anti-Communist. It was during the latter post that he met and forged a "life-altering friendship" with American soldier Daniel J. Hill, who inspired Rescorla to join the U.S. Army and fight in Vietnam in order to fight the communists. On returning to London and civilian life, he joined the Metropolitan Police Service.
His tenure at the Met was shortlived and he soon resigned and moved to the United States. He lived at a YMCA hostel in Brooklyn until he was able to enlist in the Army. "Rick", as he would thereafter be known, enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and after basic training at Fort Dix, he attended Officer Candidate School and airborne training at Fort Benning. Upon graduating Rescorla was assigned as a platoon leader in the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).
Rescorla was sent to Vietnam, where he served under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore. The two participated in the 1965 Battle of Ia Drang, which Moore would later describe in a 1992 book he co-authored We Were Soldiers Once… And Young, (from which the 2002 Mel Gibson film We Were Soldiers would be adapted). Rescorla is the soldier pictured on the book jacket cover. Co-author Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore described him as "the best platoon leader I ever saw". Rescorla's men nicknamed him "Hard Core" for his bravery in battle and revered him for his good humor and compassion towards his men. He is also mentioned in the book Baptism by Larry Gwin who also fought at Ia Drang. The fourteenth chapter of the book Rescorla's Game describes him as the "Cornish Hawk". Despite this tough image, according to his second wife and widow Susan Rescorla in her book, Touched by a Hero, music was "so central" to Rick's life that he sang to his troops in Vietnam to calm them – something he would later employ during 9/11.
Here's a bio of his good friend, Daniel Hill, who served in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), Vietnam and Afghanistan:
Daniel J. Hill (born 1938 in Oak Park, Illinois) joined the United States Army at the age of 15, by lying about his age. He eventually became a Special Forces paratrooper and served in Germany, where he participated in missions during the Hungarian Revolution and the struggle for control of Lebanon in 1958.
Following his tour in Germany, he was selected for Ranger school at Fort Benning, where he was asked to return as an instructor. In 1960 he was assigned to infiltrate the Katanga insurrection in the Congo where he met his lifelong friend, Rick Rescorla.
Hill served as a lieutenant during his first tour in Vietnam and a captain during his second. After his first tour, he was awarded the Silver Star for heroism at Trung Luong, five Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf. After retiring from the US Army, he converted to Islam and spent time fighting with the Mujahideen against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.[
Actually, Berkut (American equivalent is the SWAT) was disbanded couple of months ago.
There’s a new structure that has been setup, the National Guard, which is halfway between police and the army. It’s composed of former (vetted) police forces and the Self-Defense of Maidan. It’s currently being used n Sloviansk.
But at the local level, it’s still the same local crooked cops. There’re just so many fires to put out and Avakov (minister of the Internal Affairs) has to rely on them (some Ukrainians start to criticize, it’s betrayal of Maidan by the new government). But Avakov scored many points with this recent offensive in Sloviansk against the Russian terrorists.
