Scale of Afghan landslide 'absolutely devastating'
CNN ^ | 5/5/14 | Jethro Mullen

White tents line the sides of the valley where the landslide struck. Some villagers weep, others pray.

The remnants of their shattered community lies buried below, submerged under as much as 60 meters of mud.

In the space of one devastating week, natural disasters killed more people in Afghanistan than they did all last year.

At the heart of the destruction was the double landslide that engulfed a village in a remote northeastern province on Friday, killing more than 2,000 people.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm wrong. Fellow Freepers feel free to tell me. But I look at this article, and I feel NOTHING. I look and I see enemies. I look and I can only hope that the village was filled with Taliban. Filled with "AQ". I look and I see the faces of Danny Dietz, Mike Murphy and Matt Axelson - amidst a host of others.

Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord. Good for him. Good for them.

I think that the Christian is called to pray for their souls but also as a Christian, I believe that death is not the ultimate evil.

Muzzles are the first to celebrate when something bad happens to Americans. I am just too exhausted from their hatred to try to feel anything for them.

Perhaps, there are one or two Afghan women/girls under the landslide who consider themselves ‘delivered’.

As a Christian and a woman, I am still ashamed to say that.

If this town is the NE area that is supportive of the Taliban and Pakistan then I have no sympathy for the them. OTOH, if they keep to themselves and are just surviving then I feel for them.

It is the Will of Allah.

That is EXACTLY what most Muslims would say.

=============================

This has been happening to the Afghanis for as long as there have been Afghanis in that dry, desolate hole in the mountains. What a desperate life they must lead.

I see souls that need to be saved. Unfortunately, they would slaughter and eat any missionaries sent.

A fitting end for savages. These people can never be part of the civilized world. They will be a thorn in the side of the world for all eternity. They know it, and they are proud of it. Savagery and barbarism is their trademark, and the only thing they are good at, and known for.

Islam would only be attractive to ignorant savages. It's not a religion like other religions. It is a curse, put upon people who richly deserve it's rewards. I wonder how many Christians, Buddhists, Hindus or Jews, know the proper way to remove a man's head with a knife, by the time they are in their teens.

Muslims are a sickening branch of humanity, and getting sicker.

Well, I have pity for them.

There are women and children and elderly men among the 2000 dead. There are probably Taliban, too, and I’m not as sorry about their loss, but it would have been good for them to have more of a chance to change the evil in their souls before the landslide hit them, but they are grown-ups and in God’s hands.

And those of us who despise the Taliban should be praying for them, like Jesus said about praying for your enemies. Don’t let their inhuman behavior dehumanize you.

It is a tragedy and I celebrated by buying 6 boxes of 5.56 - 75gr HPBT. Just for, you know, unexpected guests.

Female roaches produce little roaches. Little roaches grow up to be big roaches. Old roaches have done their damage to eat away at a free society and as far as I am concerned the roach exterminator just visited the house.

These people are absolute animals and barbarians who live in the 13th century and believe in a child raping god.

I cannot find any biblical support for praying for souls. The Bible teaches that If you die without Christ, you are locked into your decision.

He also told us to love those who hate us, and to forgive them. That's the hard part.

I recall a movie, cowboys and Indians type, in which a soldier said something like "nits grow into lice" when asked why he would slaughter Indian children.

I can rejoice at the death of Taliban fanatics, but
I also remember that there were families that helped
the Navy seal survive, I do not rejoice in their suffering.
We all pale to nothing against the force of nature.
