Los Angeles Clippers guard J.J. Redick says that owner Donald Sterling was hesitant to sign him last summer because he’s white.
Speaking to USA Today, Redick went into detail about how his four-year, $27 million sign-and-trade deal almost fell apart despite being initially agreed upon.
“I’ve been told both ways: one, that he didn’t want to pay me because I was white, and that he didn’t want to pay me because I was a bench player,” Redick, the former Duke University star told USA Today. “I didn’t know until after the face. I just got a weird phone call from Doc (Rivers) on July 4, and I got off the phone and said to my wife, ‘Something’s going on.’ He’s like, ‘You better play for me (expletive).’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s the plan. We figured this out two days ago, right?’(continued)

While that may be true; it would have been just fine if he ****ed Sterling’s girlfriend.

Probably didn’t want to pay him because he’s a Dukie and all Dukies suck when they get to the NBA.
Mr. Sterling is an equal opportunity hater. . . he hates everybody but himself.
My experience is that rich folks don’t much help anybody but themselves . . . not that I begrudge what they have.
Just ticks me off that we have to hear this incessant crap for at least 6 months because he was too stupid and self-centered to keep his arrogant, racist trap shut. I get it, but I am really, really, really tired of hearing about it.

what a lying hypocrite Redick is... he made racial comments about his then girlfriend and the baby she was carrying before she had the abortion... he made the comments in an email...

The Redick contract story is old. It was reported in 2013. It was Sterling’s black head coach, “Doc” Rivers who demanded that Sterling sign Redick. Rivers threatened to resign as head coach if Sterling didn’t sign Redick.
