House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said House Republicans on Cinco de Mayo should be as courageous as the Mexican militia that defeated the French army in the Battle of Puebla to pass amnesty legislation.
Pelosi, who has said that passing amnesty legislation would be more important to her than becoming Speaker again, said "the time is now for comprehensive immigration reform" and for "House Republicans to emulate the bravery demonstrated in the Battle of Puebla, recognize the importance of immigrants and family unification, and give us a vote on a comprehensive bill that reforms our broken immigration system."
As we look back on a seminal moment in history, let us also look forward to the best ways we can continue to embrace the diverse heritage and rich history of Latinos in the United States," Pelosi said in a statement. "There is no better way to acknowledge the important contributions to our country of Americas Latino community than by enacting comprehensive immigration reform."
Even though the Congressional Budget Office has determined that amnesty legislation would lower the wages of American workers and detrimentally impact Hispanics on the lower end of the economic ladder, Democrats and Republicans backed by big-business and the high-tech industry have been relentless in advocating for sweeping amnesty legislation....

A Mexican battle with the French....Nothing to do with America. Even Mexicans up here don’t care much for it...it’s almost strictly a “white” thing.
Boehner, Haley Barbour and their BFFs Joaquin castro, Julian Castro and Pelosi should pass amnesty because the Alamo Defenders were drunks and crooks.
I’d rather honor it by handing out one way bus passes to Mehico.
Pass amnesty in Pelosi’s neighborhood ONLY. Make her street an illegal alien free zone. Make it fiesta time 24/7/365.
I declare today to be Clincho De Sphincter for democrats since they just found that Trey Gowdy will lead the Benghazi investigation.
Build the wall first. Then discuss amnesty !!!
It’s was a holiday created by beer advertising executive Carlos Alvarez of Gabrinas Importing, San Antonio to sell Corona to gringos.
It’s was a battle in Mexico. It’s not recognized by Mexico as anything.
What , is she....RACIST???
What about all the non-Latino illegals Pelosi?
You can always tell an old political whore, but you can’t tell them much.
Dear Nancy, honor America by resigning! Let the Mexicans honor a Mexican holiday by bringing all their Mexicans home. Now that would be a Cinco De Mayo I could celebrate. In the mean time why don’t you and brilliant resident of yours go celebrate cinco de quatro in all of the 57 states.
She has no idea.
All true Americans should, in honor of Cinco de Mayo and Witch Pelosi, loudly and odiously pass something other than amnesty.
I prefer to celebrate Ocho de Mayo, when on May 8th, 1846 an American army of twenty-two hundred defeated a Mexican army half again larger at the Battle of Palo Alto and drove the Mexicans off of US soil.
Why would I honor a foreign holiday?
As we look back on a seminal moment in history, let us also look forward to the best ways we can continue to embrace the diverse heritage and rich history of Latinos in the United States,” Pelosi said in a statement. “There is no better way to acknowledge the important contributions to our country of Americas Latino community than by eating
a chili dog, the national food of Mexico and the national
food of the Estados Unidos.”
Wasserman-Schultz to proclaime national Fifth of Mayonaise
The best way to ‘celebrate’ Cinco de Mayo is to return all the illegal immigrants in the United States to the country where the holiday is most commonly celebrated.
