FBI: Flow of foreign fighters into Syria growing

By Eric Tucker

WASHINGTON — The flow of foreign fighters into Syria has grown in just the last few months, with dozens of Americans joining the county’s conflict along with thousands of Europeans, FBI Director James Comey said Friday.

U.S. law enforcement officials have expressed concern about the influence of hard-line jihadists in Syria, many of them linked to al-Qaida, as they seek to overthrow President Bashar Assad. They say fighters from the U.S. or Europe looking to join the cause could easily become radicalized and import those influences when they return home.

Speaking to reporters, Comey said the number of Americans who have either traveled to Syria or sought to do so had grown by a few dozen since the start of the year, and that there are Americans in Syria who are trying to bring others over.

Comey compared the situation to that of Afghanistan when thousands of Muslims worldwide who traveled to the country during the 10-year Soviet occupation returned home with the fervor of jihad and sometimes sought to overthrow their own governments.

“All of us with a memory of the ’80s and ’90s saw the line drawn from Afghanistan in the ’80s and ’90s to Sept. 11,” he said. “We see Syria as that, but an order of magnitude worse,” because more foreign fighters are going there and the country is easier to get to.

He added: “We are determined not to let lines be drawn from Syria today to a future 9/11.”

The entire Administration, our intelligence agencies, AND the FBI, at least according to Obama’s Liars [hmmm, maybe an Ocean’s 11 thing here], had no frigging clue about what was going to happen, what happened, and why with respect to the murder of 4 Americans in Benghazi.

Exactly why should we now believe the FBI or any Administration mouthpiece? We are NOW to believe they are somehow magically prescient about foreign affairs?

Are we?

I’m cheering for Syria’s government to wipe out every terrorist violent enough to go there. As for Obama, it doesn’t surprise me when he cheers for the terrorists.

Since the FBI now does foreign affairs....could we allow DoD to run border patrol, and the CIA to run national parks? And the VP to handle White House tours?

These gentlemen are on a one-way trip to Syria. They will not return alive.

It seems so. Actually, I might be inclined to believe the FBI IF they can tell me who they’ve identified, arrested and/or prosecuted for the murder of the 4 Americans in Benghazi. Until then, their words mean nothing to me.

Let’s hope that this is a case of “fly meets bug zapper.”

Well, Isaiah 17:1 needs to be fulfilled prior to the tribulation period.
Perhaps the burden of Damascus is about to fall.

‘FBI: Flow of foreign fighters into Syria growing”
Wow! We’re worried about foreign fighters in
Syria, yet we do nothing to control our borders from illegals, gangsters and foreign fighters. The FBI has become Obama’s national security force just as he said would happen.

Am I correct in saying everyone who travels to another country and takes up arms to fight, has violated the laws of the USA and are subject to prosecution?

Russia and Syria are fighting our enemies while our Muslim Brotherhood president is arming them.

More than likely most of the $6 billion missing from Hillary’s State Dept. went to arming up al Qaida terrorist.

Perhaps Mr. Comey should concern himself with MS-13 instead.

Throwing good money after bad. This war is like the Iraq-Iran war, there are no good guys, it's best for us their they keep fighting and killing one another as long as possible.

We could be helping the minorities defend themselves; the Christians, Druze and Kurds.

Why is the dam FBI discussing this? They should be focused on domestic matters.

Exactly....The NSA should be concerned with foreign matters, and the FBI with internal ones....but they’ve flipped.
