Iran will target U.S. aircraft carriers based in the Persian Gulf if a war were to ever erupt between both countries, an Iranian naval chief warned Tuesday.
"Aircraft carriers are the symbol of America's military might," Adm. Ali Fadavi, according to the Fars news agency. "The carriers are responsible for supplying America's air power. So, it's natural that we want to sink the carriers."

rattle those sabers you unctuous bumpkins "
This is news? No, just common sense.
I wonder if barry had to pay them to make the statement...to take the American Mind of BENGHAZI?????
In other news flashes, water is wet, and the sky is blue.
Did anyone think they wouldn’t try to target the carriers? Question is whether they have any chance whatsoever of succeeding.
Expect more Non News Flashes from around the world...as the Whitehouse Basement News Generating Team kicks it up into high gear to take our minds off BENGHAZI!!!
Order as much popcorn as you can safely afford...this is going to be a BIG ONE!!!
In the Obama Navy, Admirals are probably blindsided by this “unexpected” revelation but I’m pretty sure that aircraft carriers have always been the highest value targets since Dec 8 1941. And we have had the means to protect them.
Ali make me laugh long time.
Ummmmm... DUH!
the Kim Jong Un of the middle east....
This article is screaming for 'Captain Obvious' to show up..
Run silent.
Run deep.
Of course they would try. It would be irresponsible warfare strategy to not try or consider how to do it.
I hope our admirals and captains are not so arrogant to believe it can’t be done. That is when tragedy happens.
I have to wonder about the intent of the message..relative to its timing.
could the regime be directing these rubes to generate off the cuff statement such as this in an effort to tak America’s mind off thier own misdeeds...such as the fiasco at BENGHAZI!,,and its COVERUP??
The only way the Iranians get to kill a carrier is if they launch a sneak attack on one while it’s in the Persian Gulf.
Because as soon as there’s indications that hostilities are about to start the USN will pull any carrier in the Persian Gulf out into the Indian Ocean. Where the Iranians will never be able to find it, let alone launch an attack against it.
It’s like the people who scream that in the event of war with the ChiComs our carriers operating in the Taiwan Strait will be vulnerable. Not realizing that in the event of war the very last place the carriers will be is in the Taiwan Strait.
Precisely
Expect more and more useless rumblings from around the globe to be published as we approach B-or...BENGHAZI DAY!!
Seems I remember Sadam Hussein claiming that his “elite” Republican Guards would decimate any and all American forces attempting to enter Iraq...*LOL*
The US military almost died from laughter at the way the “elite” Republican Guards surrendered faster than the US could advance...They were even surrendering to news reporters...
So much for Iran, Iraq, Pakistani, Afghanistan military might...
do you find if mildly odd that this statement comes on the very heels of the announcement of the New Benghazi PROBLEMS the democwacks are having?
I get the sense that the iranians....are cooperating with Valerie Jarret in an effort to take America’s mind off the mid eastern gun running....to AL QIADA...AND the Benghazi Hearings!!
The only way the Iranians get to kill a carrier is if they launch a sneak attack on one while its in the Persian Gulf.

Nope. One rag head in the powder magazine below decks.....
Actually the SSBN and Attack subs have more firepower.
I figure one or two empty tubes from an Ohio class sub should do the entire country quite nicely...
