Pelosi: New Benghazi inquiry should be split evenly among Dems, GOP
Washington Post ^ | May 6, 2014 | WESLEY LOWERY

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday morning that the new committee to investigate the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi being commissioned by the House GOP leadership must include an even split of Democrats and Republicans in order to be fair.

“If this review is to be fair, it must be truly bipartisan. The panel should be equally divided between Democrats and Republicans as is done on the House Ethics Committee," Pelosi said in a statement. "It should require that witnesses are called and interviewed, subpoenas are issued, and information is shared on a bipartisan basis. Only then could it be fair.”

Aides to Boehner were quick to note on Tuesday morning that previous select committees -- including a 2007 committee on climate change commissioned under Pelosi's House leadership -- have included uneven majority-minority party membership.

Yesterday the Democrats were going to boycott it. It’s hard to keep up.

Pelosi and her ‘RATs should not be allowed to use “fair” and “bipartisan” in the same sentence.

If you have a bipartisan committee, which reflects the party split of House membership, by defintion, won’t such a committee be majority Republican? What is she talking about?

I’m sure John Gotti wanted six mafia members on the jury at his trial.

A balanced number of committee members with the chair having tie breaker capabilities would probably make sense. Otherwise the democrats would say the committee is racist and wants dirty water.

I don’t recall Pelosi being so concerned with fairness when she was ramming through legislation without giving the House a chance to even read it much less debate it. No Republican input on bills, “deeming” legislation passed and cheering on recess appointments when Congress wasn’t even in recess.

Pelosi will propose the most disruptive house members with some big time race baiters for the committee. That tactic has worked well to hamstring Issa’s inquiry.

My my. Just yesterday, they were going to take their ball and go home. Now, they’re making demands. Next, they’ll threaten to hold their breath or to run away from home. Democrats.....spoiled little children.

Nancy, you must have hit yourself one to many times on the head with that oversized gavel you paraded around the Capitol grounds when you were in charge and betrayed this country.

The fact is that you don’t matter one damned tiny iota of a bit any more. Shut the Frack Up and go sit down. You don’t matter any more.

Bipartisan is just another Democrat and RINO word for ‘appeasement’.

Have dems ever allowed pubs to share power with them when they contolled a hearing? I doubt it.

You know what? My initial reaction without giving it serious thought or researching House protocol/precedent is that I’m fine with an evenly split panel. We want the truth, whatever it takes to get it and wherever it leads.

Boehner could put Trey Gowdy up there alone with all Democrats and I’d still be confident that Gowdy can handle it.

I reserve the right to give it a second thought.

Go FK yourself Nancy.
