President Shimon Peres revealed on Monday that three years ago he reached a peace agreement with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
Speaking to Channel 2 News in a special interview on the occasion of Yom Haatzmaut (Independence Day), Peres said that his contacts with Abbas were made on behalf of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, but that at the last minute, Netanyahu changed his mind and the agreement fell through.

At the last minute, Bibi found out what loony terms the nutbag was offering, and not having a death wish, lowered the boom on the whole thing.
Has anyone ever seen Peres and John McCain the same room together? Is it possible that they are the same person? Because they sure help “their side” in mighty strange ways.

(End the occupation. Annex today.)
That would be my take as well. Having Perez involved in a peace agreement would be like having Kerry involved in one.

Gee, Benny didn’t go for it?

OK, so now Clinton, Bush and Peres have reached agreements with Arafat, Abbas, and Abbas. Who knows, if it wasn't for Sam Adams we'd have reached an agreement with the King, it's not like we didn't try for years. Though not as many years as Israel. Now what.

(the Democrats take back control, we dont make (this) kind of naked power grab, J Biden)
Peres keeps undermining his own little country. I say he’s done more than enough damage and should be retired.

Peres is kind of senile, so that makes his memory suspect. But he's Obama's (and the American left's) favorite Israeli, so the story could have been made up by someone else and given to Peres as an attempt to tone down the US regime's anger at Israel's alleged "intransigence" with regard to the latest attempts at "peace talks."
Didn't know that Peres had the authority to negotiate with Abbas and reach "peace agreements" with him.
