With Hillary Clinton almost assuredly running for president in 2016, Monica Lewinsky‘s Vanity Fair piece today set off a lot of people’s conspiratorial alarm bells, with some suspicion anti-Clinton forces might have been behind it. But on The O’Reilly Factor tonight, Lynne Cheney suggested it might have actually been pushed by Clinton’s team themselves.
Guest host Laura Ingraham talked with Cheney about liberal attacks on the Bush administration, and Cheney briefly addressed it before pivoting to Lewinsky’s piece and making an observation. She said, “I really wonder if this isn’t an effort on the Clintons’ part to get that story out of the way. Would Vanity Fair publish anything of Monica Lewinsky that Hillary Clinton wouldn’t want in Vanity Fair?”
Cheney pointed out that Rand Paul had been bringing up Monicagate earlier this year and looked like it would be a big issue further on, so, she said, maybe the Clintons are “getting it out of the way” so they can call it “old news” by the time 2016 comes around.

Unless "our side" (a large percentage of whom would rather have hillary as pres than have a conservative) reinforces the "poor hillary" rhetoric, it's a miscalculation hy hillary's overly self absorbed clique.

As a fan of House of Cards, it isn’t a stretch to believe all sorts of “dirty deeds”. Interesting that the show reflects the “values” of Democrats.

You got that right. This morning on an NYC talk/info-tainment show, Lewinsky continued to get trashed. Kenneth Starr got trashed. Republicans got trashed. HRC reprised her role as martyr. Bill, Hillary and Chelsea triumphed again.
The murders at Benghazi. The little islamist was evidently getting-it-on somewhere and couldn’t be bothered. hitlery is up to her gray roots in this. She’d evidently denied Stevens added security. Why? As huma reports directly to the muslim brotherhood, what orders were transmitted to hillary in that process?

I like this whole meme as a counter-attack to the dems claim of a “war on women” by republicans. Laura made an excellent argument of how the left ridiculed a 20 year old kid and threw her under the bus to protect the sexual predator in chief. And Hillary was the architect of the “Bimbo eruption” strategy of hunting down and silencing all the women that Bill had abused over the years.
Hillary achieved a General’s rank in the war on women.

True. However, if Bill Clinton could run for a third term as President in 2016, against any Republican, he would probably win. One thing Clinton succeeded in with the Monica affair, he eliminated sexual misbehavior as a disqualifier for the job of POTUS in the minds of most Americans. What does that say for our society and our culture?
