Claim: Warriors Coach Fired for Christian Views on Homosexuality
Breitbart's California ^ | May 7, 2014 | Joel B. Pollak

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Was Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson fired for his Christian views on gay marriage? That's what Ann Killion is asking at sfgate.com, noting that Jackson's lukewarm reaction to the coming-out of Jason Collins, last year was something of a mismatch for the Bay Area, which is the global capital of gay politics and culture.

Killion writes:

Everything about Jackson was under scrutiny, which includes his very public persona as a religious man. It was probably not at the top of the list, but was probably on the list....

When Jason Collins made his historic pronouncement last year that he was gay, Jackson’s immediate response came out sounding less-than-supportive.

“I will say this,” Jackson said the day of the news. “We live in a country that allows you to be whoever you want to be. As a Christian man, I serve a God that gives you free will to be who you want to be. As a Christian man, I have beliefs of what’s right and what’s wrong. That being said, I know Jason Collins, I know his family, and am certainly praying for them at this time.”

What’s right and what’s wrong? Praying for someone who decided to live an honest life? His words created a very strange vibe, especially for a Bay Area team in the 21st century....

Hmmm…..given that Steph Curry has a faith and belief system very close to that of Mark Jacksons, I guess they’ll get rid of Curry soon too……oh, wait…….

“Gay culture” is a contradiction in terms.

Just look at the things they do and the way they live.

You can get a brief sample by looking up “Gay Pride Photos” on the internet. Just don’t do it on a full stomach, and have plenty of eye bleach handy.

Aren’t Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton supposedly recent converts to homosexual marriage?

All pendulums swing.

And I will greatly enjoy the sure to come swing on attitudes towards gays whose sole purpose in life apparently is to let everyone know that their sexual programming was evidently done by Microsoft.

I would need a brain transplant after viewing some of those images. Eye bleach or even eye gouging wouldn’t work because what has been seen cannot be unseen.

I shudder to think what kind of photos would show up based on such a search.

"However, as an organization, we simply feel it’s best to move in a different direction at this time.” - Warriors GM Bob Myers

Jackson's record at Golden State:

2011-2012: 23–43
2012-2013: 47–35
2013-2014: 51–31

Yep. Golden State definitely doesn't want to go in that direction.

Yes but, coaches are hired to be tfired, and it seems, among the major sports, NBA coaches get the hook quickest (with Popovich being a notable exception).

We'll see if the Warriors regress next season. This is basically Steph Curry's team now, maybe there was some conflict between the two?

Warriors Coach Fired for Christian Views on Homosexuality

So what?

If you didn't sign up for what the Master promised you, you aren't really a Christian.

Mark Jackson led his team all the way to the First Round of the NBA Playoffs and he was fired!

When have you ever heard of any NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL coach who led his team to the first round of the playoffs and still got fired?

It happens more than you think, including for teams that go beyond the first round. Then again, getting to the playoffs in at least MLB or the NHL aren't exactly huge accomplishments for some teams.

Over half the teams make the playoffs. Losing in the first round with all of his other problems is not good enough.

More like the NBA where almost every team goes to the playoffs.

You are correct. I actually meant NBA, not MLB.

Their format is better than NFL or baseball. Top 8 in each conference make it. In the NFL some teams with winning records don’t make it and some with a sorry record or 8-8 will make it because they win their division.

Baseball they play for a decade and only a couple of teams make it in.
