The White House is waging an all-out assault on religious liberty. Public schools are indoctrinating our children with the gospel of secularism. Hollywood is spewing toxins into our homes. The soundtrack of our lives is a pulsating mix of sex and violence and filth. The American family is in ruins. What was once wrong is now right and what was once right is now wrong.
Our nation stands on a precipice. Freedom hangs in the balance. We live in a postmodern and post-God nation. The perfect storm is brewing. Do not be deceived. There may be a war on religious liberty, but the true target is Christianity.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Kelly Shackelford, president of Liberty Institute, penned an open letter to the American people last year. Hostility against religious liberty has reached an all-time high, they warned. The freedom of religion is being pushed out of public life, schools and even churches.
The freedom of religion is being pushed out of public life, schools and even churches.
Our Founding Fathers considered religious liberty our first freedom, and the bedrock upon which all other freedoms rest, the men wrote. They understood that ones right to worship God and follow his conscience according to the principles of his religious faith was foundational to civic tranquility. A man whose religious faith was repressed could never be a loyal citizen since the state was usurping his first allegiance and costing him his primary freedom. This is one of the most important distinctions that makes America an exceptional nation -- if not the most important.
Both groups document more than 600 recent examples of religious hostility. Six hundred. American stories. Our stories. Their documentation included many stories I have covered during my career at Fox News Channel.

This is an excellent article. Too bad I had to excerpt it. It is well worth going to the link and reading.
yes , He can
Just as in Sodom , He spared a few .
It sure would be cool to see His wrath fall upon the others again ;^)
Then they might believe ( the survivors , if any )
He did bless America.. before America crapped all over that blessing. I have no doubt He CAN bless it again.. my question is, would He want to?
2 Chronicles 7:14
New King James Version (NKJV)
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
From the article:
“A while back Rev. Billy Graham penned a letter expressing his dismay over the moral decline of the nation, declaring that his heart aches for America and its deceived people.
The farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control, Graham wrote, noting that the nation seems to be going out of its way to remove God from the public arena. Just a few weeks ago in a prominent city in the South, Christian chaplains who serve the police department were ordered to no longer mention the Name of Jesus in prayer, he wrote, noting that officers were only allowed to pray to the being in the room.
Ping to the above and the link. This is very well written.

The bible says: “Where iniquity doth abound, grace doth much more abound.”
IOW, it is great that they have this shining light article from one of their own writers in the midst of all that confusion.
The light shined in the darkness and the darkness could not overcome it.

Just quoting the Unrevised God Version.
No, God does not bless a Godless country. Any more than he blesses an individual who rejects Him, and lives evil.
You might think again. Read Matthew 25 from verse 31. Both the sheep and the goats are surprised.
καὶ τὸ φῶς ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ φαίνει, καὶ ἡ σκοτία αὐτὸ οὐ κατέλαβεν.
It's our own fault. We got fat, lazy and stupid. IMO it's too far gone to save.
We're like children who have autonomy, and we've gone FUBAR.
Can God bless a godless nation? Of course He can. He can do anything He chooses that is not against His nature. Will He? Again, yes. He's blessing us everyday that He doesn't allow us to be destroyed, raped and pillaged by infidels. But at some point, unless we repent, he's likely to turn His face against us. And it doesn't look like we're anywhere near repenting.
Faithful Christians are on an out-of-control bus and all that can be done is to pray and hold tight.
God is not sinking America.
Socialism is sinking America.
Same as it did in every country where socialism was/is tried.
“and light shineth in the darkness
and the darkness did not comprehend it”
OK, I cheated and looked it up...
I'm one of those self employed people that obama decided shouldn't have the health insurance I liked. My policy was canceled and initially I thought my only choice was to go through one of the exchanges. If I did that I would end up paying for other peoples abortions, have the govt deciding what's good for me, and be limited to doctors and hospitals I don't want to go to.
I was told about a Christian Healthcare Co-Op (Medi-Share) by another Christian. My wife and I joined the Co-Op and found a Concierge Doctor. Having done this has opened my eyes. We don't have to just take it and complain.
We should be finding every way possible to separate ourselves from being connected to this secular world. I don't see things turning around. Eventually Christians will have to find a State, or group of States, that peacefully separate from the current USA. There will be no place for us here if we stay truthful to teachings we've been given by God in Scripture. In the meantime we should be segregating our financial dealings and most social activities from the anti-Christian institutions and people.

Amen Kart, and thanks for the ping.
Its time for a new generation of believers to rise up and restore the dream of our Founding Fathers the dream of a nation where all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. The dream of a people who declare we are still one nation under God."
Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God!
At least at the moment, He seems reluctant to do so.
I cannot say I am pleased with the way things are turning out. I am old enough to remember when the country was much different. But an experience from my life reminds me that things can always be worse, and better.
I attend an Albanian Orthodox Church. Before the early 1990’s almost all of the members were people whose families were here before 1945. Not many people got out after that. In 1967 the communists closed all houses of worship in Albania and outlawed all religious expression. When immigrants started to arrive here in the mid-1990’s, I was surprised how well-acqainted many people were with the services and songs of the church. And many of these were younger people who had never known anything but communism. The church went on even after it had completely outlawed.
So the takeaway for me is that God stands by those who remain faithful to Him, and is always around to clean up the mess. I am not afraid of any punks in Washington, who have already forfeited my obedience and loyalty.
Yes, God can bless America, godless or not.
God always waits for the sinners to come to him and ask for forgiveness for their sins.
Can you even imagine a Republican with such gestures. Media would be all over the story.
This nation has killed more babies than all of the people from all countries during WWII. God is no longer giving his blessing to this nation and we are on the cusp of judgement.
The choices you make in your personal life are all that counts now. Focus on your families and relationships. Yes, use your vote, but realize that salvation does not lie in the pubbie party or the triumph of conservatism. Do good and resist evil. Pray for mercy that more may be turned to Christ.
I just pray that He protect His remnant, as He as always done in times past. America deserves every lightning bolt God will strike her with, but I pray the remnant comes out the other side and is restored.
Very well written and inspiring article. Todd Starnes does radio bits in the afternoon during the hours Rush is on. He’s a very talented and witty announcer and writer. He is right. We need patriots to stand up to the bullies and push back against religious intolerance. It’s never too late.
But only for those who believe.
The wrath of God abides right now on those who do not believe:
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)
For those in open rebellion, the reprobate, his wrath is revealed here and now (as George Washington said, god punishes nations in this life).
But is the church really longing for God with true repentance.Just asking.
Indeed. Thanks for the ping, dear brother in Christ!
So if they substituted “in Emmannuel’s name, amen” for Jesus...would they get away with it. How about Yeshua?
See what I’m getting at? Jesus has many names in the Bible.
It’s even more expressive in the original Klingon....okay just joking!
Or even “the Lord God.” But the point is that the world is more and more anti salvation.
It’s Greek to me.
In the name of the star that arose out of Jacob, amen!
In the name of mighty God incarnate, amen!
In the name of Judah’s lion, amen!
Talk about making libs’ heads explode!
I agree that Jesus has many names, but that isn’t really the point. The point is that in a land with a Constitution that tells the government to stay out of religion, that these people are forcing others to follow their brand of religion. Their religion is some kind of neutral mish-mash that they have invented and shoved down the throat of others.
I’ve said that for years as both a military chaplain and as a freeper on these pages.
The Supreme Court and Justice Anthony Kennedy echoed that (finally) in their ruling about prayer at a town council. Kennedy said that the government shouldn’t be re-writing people’s prayers. That specific prayer using Jesus’ name is just fine so long as everyone gets a shot at a turn to pray.
So, we should stand and insist that we’re not watering anything down just to slip it past the censors. (At the same time, mdmathis6, if someone WANTS to pray as you have suggested, then that’s entirely different. They can certainly do that.)
Kennedy’s opinion the other day was a breath of fresh air, though.
Thanks for the info, Girlene. I am an occasional listener to Rush. I’ll have to pay attention for Todd Starnes. I’m really impressed by his writing here. As we preachers are fond of saying, “This will preach!”
Open Doors reports that over 200 pastors in Maiduguri, Nigeria have either fled, been forced to close their churches, or have been murdered as a result of Boko Haram's (a terrorist group with Al Qaeda ties) activity in the region. In response to this violence, however, those that remain have committed to fasting and praying for one week each month.
"We have to stay and uphold the name of Christ in this state," one pastor named only as James told Open Doors. "We are willing to pay the price for our calling. We don't only share the Gospel when things are rosy. It is to be done in every situation. Hunger and want will never discourage us. Swords and guns, even the roar of the devil, will only encourage us to stand first for Christ. "If we die, our blood will speak about Christ to our killers."
Harmless as doves and the wisdom of serpents/wisdom of adults with the malice of children...that’s all I’m saying...’nuff said!
We don’t have to take it......Please go see ..God’s Not Dead..a powerful movie!
Who can stop God from doing something?
However, God had a purpose for Corrie tenBoom & family, devout Christians.........some of which died, and some were sent to a concentration camp during the Holocaust because they sheltered Jews.
God had a purpose for Pastor Dietrich Bonhoffer.....who at one point was safe in America, but chose to return to Germany to help his people.....only to be hanged.
I too want to find that higher, safer ground........but God’s will is what I desire most.
Their commitment to Christ will be rewarded.
The wicked world hates salvation.
All they can see is that it would poop their wickedness party.
They can’t see God’s amazing love.
Jesus used to be respected more, partly reflecting more believers and partly reflecting unbelievers who were more practical minded.
There is a time to sacrifice as a witness (i.e. a martyr).
There have been stories of large groups saved who watched a martyrdom and were overcome with a supernaturally inspired wonder about what would ever move someone to such an “illogical” act.
Thank God for these pastors!
