Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned Americans not to embrace the idea that 'anybody can have a gun, anywhere, anytime,' during a speech at the National Council for Behavioral Health conference in Maryland Tuesday. This skewed mindset is not in the best interest of the majority of citizens, Clinton explained.
As captured by the Associated Press:
"I think again we're way out of balance. I think that we've got to rein in what has become an almost article of faith that anybody can have a gun anywhere, anytime," Clinton said. "And I don't believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people. And I think you can say that and still support the right of people to own guns."
The right to own a gun has hardly become 'an article of faith,' it has been integral to the laws of the land since the Second Amendment was ratified in 1791. Clinton, however, seems to believe the right to bear arms is a sudden and irresponsible shift in society.

theater and shot and killed 12 people.
In 2012 Andrew Engeldinger, a disgruntled Democrat, shot and killed 7 people
in Minneapolis .
In 2013, a registered Democrat, named Adam Lanza, shot and killed 26 people
in a school in Newtown , CT.
As recently as Sept 2013, an angry Democrat shot 12 at a Navy ship yard.
Clearly, there is a problem with Democrats and guns.
Not one NRA member, Tea Party member, or Republican conservative was
involved in any of these shootings and murders.
SOLUTION: It should be illegal for Democrats to own guns.
I think that people have deluded themselves into thinking they can speak freely anytime, associate with anyone and practice their religious faith fully and conform to their religious conscience.
There have to be practical and reasonable limits.
No home should be subject to feeling intimidated by another.
License everything.

This is a strawman argument. No one is advocating that anybody can have a gun, anyway. William Safire identified Hillary as a congenital liar. This is just another example.
