You are right. She opened her mouth, made a statement, and then tried to claim 5th Amendment protection. Trey Goudy, experienced prosecutor, recognized it immediately and brought it to the chairman’s attention. I would expect the liberal press to continually beat its meme that when Lerner made her statement it was not her intent to also waive her 5th Amendment rights.
