SPLC Launches Hysterical Attack on Common Core Critics
The Southern Poverty Law Center, in a paranoid report released this week, hysterically attacks critics of Common Core.

Morris Dees and his cadre of liberals are a pox on the South.
As clownish as they’ve become, its not necessary to give them attention anymore. Even the FBI has now moved away from their insane material.
SPLC is an anti-white extremist organization that encourages violence against their ideological opponents and makes money as a race-baiting front group.
Used to get your head jammed in lockers at school? Come work for SPLC
Disgruntled sexual deviant looking to shoot people? Come work for SPLC
Enjoy avoiding taxes while engaging in political activity? Come work for SPLC
Hate whitey and have poor dress sense? You can be a damn manager of SPLC!
So, when will it attack the Chicago Teachers Union that is opposing Common Core? See http://www.suntimes.com/news/27301978-418/chicago-teachers-union-votes-to-oppose-common-core-standards.html#.U2uElkoo7cs
Speaking of "pox"...doesn't it look like Comrade Dees has a bad case of smallpox?
It’s 1964 forever for the Southern Poverty Law Center... the world’s moved on - old victims have become modern thugs - and Morris fights yesterday’s war. Something there is old ... and mean.
Notice how the picture in taken in tight? That’s to make the group look larger... Odd.
After that dried up, he started a direct mail business.
Then in 1971, he hit upon the idea of suing his former clients for civil damages and doing it as a non-profit so he wouldn't have to pay taxes.
Morris Dees has been a slime his entire life.
I’ve said before that if you see Comrade Dees on TV try turning off the sound and take a good look at him while he is busy lying. You will see a disgusting freak.
Also, when are we going to see the IRS audit these conmen?
Long, long, long, long, long after hell freezes over.
That makes Morris a bigger jerk than I ever imagined. I assumed he had gotten in on something that mattered and had overstayed the time... With his sick personality type he'll probably be fighting for the Tea Party in 40 years when the rest of us have moved on to newer injustices.
I think he might be evil..
Notice that some of the left is realizing that it just may be at the cusp of losing its grip on public schools. It is inevitable. Public school alternative enrollments are growing as much as 7 times as fast as public school enrollments as people choose to opt out of public schools for homeschooling, charter, and private schools. The rise of information technology is leading directly to a conclusion which will make distributed education and non traditional education options the norm. Things may appear dire in the Obama neo dictatorship but the left and the political media class is approaching an abyss.
We will see even more shrillness as they attempt to shut up and shut down critics and try to force more and more centralized control over people’s lives and minds before the reigns come off altogether. Traditional media is deconstructing and once academia follows completely the left will be left with what it deserves a very narrow impotent place in our politics. That of course requires us to continue to fight and use the lefts overstepping in areas of speech and religious suppression.
That is so telling! I have a deep disdain for that little worm gates. His eugenics crap just put me over the edge.
While it’s fun to see the teachers against something as horrendous as Common Core, keep in mind that their ONLY objection to it is the testing requirements, as that enables the really bad teachers to be identified.
If they pull out the testing, the teachers will support Common Core 1000%.
Meanwhile, my grandson in NC has been relieved of the common core problem. NC has apparently abandoned the program
I can only assume that it's a knee jerk reaction by the teachers' union to anything with the word "standards" in it.
re: I’m curious as to why the union is against common core...why is the socialists/communist/marxist union head Lewis against it? Does anyone know?
I expect that the testing results are not going to be be pretty, and as always, teachers will be blamed. I think that some teachers are now realizing that they have been given a very difficult task in teaching with the Common Core curriculum. While I don’t think that everything is objectionable with Common Core, much is. Subjects are now introduced at an earlier stage when there is no foundation or an inadequate foundation for understanding. I have noticed that math instruction, for example is often being made far more complicated than it has to be, but students are expected to follow the complicated procedures. If they do not follow the prescribed methods, they are marked wrong. While the very smart kids may be able to easily pick up on the convoluted processes to do some of the math problems, certainly many students will struggle with understanding.
The acrobatics in logic evident throughout the whole report are stunning. Incredibly, the SPLC also tries to imply that because a higher proportion of minorities go to government school than whites, criticism of Common Core must be at least partly due to racism. The half-baked insinuations are hardly new. In fact, SPLC spokesman Mark Potok was recently ridiculed on national television after suggesting that more than half of whites had anti-black attitudes.
According to the US Census Bureau 55% of public school students are "white, non-Hispanic". So obviously Common Core is a racist attack designed to even further dumb down whites in America.
Is that correct. The best I can tell there is a bill proposed to throw CC in the dumpster, but it has not been passed. I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
Make sure they’re not doing what most states that have ‘dumped’ common core are doing. They’re using the same standards and just relabeling them to avoid the common core critics. Bait and switch.
well, perhaps I’m wrong........ my source is my DIL in NC and she might have overstated the facts
