Skip to comments.Mitt Romney: A Severe Conservative Who Just Won’t Go Away

When conservative candidates lose their bid for elected office, they tend to fade away from public life and are never heard from again. But for Rockefeller Republicans, losing an election is evidently a resume enhancer for them to continue advising and interfering with Republican politics and policy.
Mitt Romney ran as a severely conservative Republican in the primary. He pulverized his opponents with an expensive negative ad campaign and won the nomination. Then, as is the case with most moderate Republicans, his truculent attitude in the primary transformed into one of ineptitude and submissiveness in the face of an aggressive Democrat opponent.
Not only did he lose the election to Obama, his status as the grandfather of government-run healthcare completely took the issue of Obamacare off the table for two years until Senator Ted Cruz and other conservatives were able to bring the issue back to the forefront of political discourse.
Many of us thought Romney would recede back into private life and enjoy his affluent retirement lifestyle and his close-knit family. Instead, he has slowly crawled his way back into public life and is trying to become the kingmaker of the Republican Party. A one-term governor of a liberal state with a moderate record, Romney has never fought and bled for the conservative cause. He has never accomplished anything to earn him the right to play the role of elder statesman in the party.
He has endorsed one liberal candidate after another, most appallingly, in ads for Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) misleading primary voters about his record.
Now he is venturing into policy positions as well. As Democrats face impending disaster this November, and for once, Republicans actually remained united against Obamas effort to demagogue with minimum wage mandates, Romney is calling on Republicans to support Obama:

“Severe” in this case means faux.
I’M glad I read the article instead of letting the title turn me off.
A far left pro abort, pro homosexual, pro amnesty, dip who implemented socialized medicine before Obama implemented it.
Mitt wants to run again in 2016. Don’t be shocked if he tries it.
As a democrat?
Yeah. And don’t be shocked if he gets the nomination.
It’s that crazy.
I would say that he ran as a 'severely' hampered conservative Republican that looked an awful lot like a Democrat.
Such a perfect analysis of the puppet person the Leftists control, as much as a Jeb Bush, for the Dialectic Materialism—to march us right into the NWO. We need to get people who stand on character and the principles of Objective Truth, and Natural Rights from God-—never the State. We need people who really understand the Constitution and who will defend its principles.....Romney never will.
My thoughts exactly.
Bishop Romney is entitled.
To win the primaries and lose the elections.
Again and again and again and again. . . .
mcromney is a socialist..
his record speaks for itself
Romney Conservative? LOL
There are a lot of “Severe Conservatives”, elected and not that just won’t go away!!
Mitt Romney: A SeveredConservative Who Just Wont Go Away
He like McLame,Boner,McConartist and others have severed themselves from Conservatives but JUST WON'T GO AWAY!
Just like McCain did back in 2008, Romney in 2012 ran a weak and half-hearted general election campaign. There was no drive, no fire.
And yet I'm not surprised that he wants to try again.
Forgot the barf alert ?BS alert tag
Mitt is not a conservative, never has been.
Gun ban to Mass, gay marriage, activist gay judges, and Romneycare, that’s what he brought to Massachusetts.
Mitt’s father, George Romney, gov of Michigan way back when, was one of the original RINOs who stabbed Goldwater in the back in 1964. Rockefeller, Scranton and Romney. They came self-righteously out of left field and managed to make conservatism look like a miserable failure until Reagan woke everybody up. I will never forget the harm they caused our country.
RINO Republicans: like dead raccoons hidden deeply under the porch, they continue to stink long after they have made a mess of things.
Mitt wants to run again in 2016. Dont be shocked if he tries it.
I think the only question is whether or not they first run Bush 2.5, a/k/a ‘Jeb’
(”Jeb” is so warm and fuzzy; like “Homeland Security”).
If Bush 2.5 can’t generate enough steam for a credible loss to Hillary Bin’ghazi, the nomenklatura will run Willard.
That is my take anyway. Willard -wants- to for sure. We’ll see.
I remember it well. That is pretty much when I quit listening to any of these puppet show barkers.
I totally missed that there was second, more severely-conservative candidate with the same name as Mitt Romney...who else can he be talking about?
States Calling For Secession Was A Protest Tactic That Has Nothing to do with “race” Gets Blown Off
The leadership of the so called political opposition (Republican) will wonder why as they lose a crucial election because of their inability to stand on principles.Let alone demonstrate they are politically dysfunctional, unwilling to work with or even recognize legitimate concerns from what they call the tea party but in reality are the Reagan voters of 2014 and unable to congeal into a unified working political unit. They did not learn from 2012 and continue to blow off 2014. (snip)
Yes they say if Jeb does not run Mitt likely will.
