There’s that, and then that company who said they found metals consistent with the airliner, but I’ve not yet heard that any kind of investigation was done where they were saying it was. Why is that?

One of the first steps is to find out how deep the water is at that location.
Most likely, it’s too deep to see a plane sitting on the sea floor.
Another step is to look at the location prior to the disappearance, to see if the object is already there.
Also look later, and see if it’s still there.
Just a couple simple steps to start trying to verify or eliminate, but the media never seems to bother.
