AUSTIN — A hearing for Lou Tierce, whose veterinary license was suspended in the wake of his arrest on animal cruelty charges, is under way with dozens of his supporters in the audience.

Tierce’s attorney, Donald Ferrill of Fort Worth, also a licensed veterinarian, spoke first, saying there have been tales of a “vampire running a shop of horrors” but insisted that was not the case.

Tierce’s clinic in west Fort Worth had been raided on April 29 after a woman filed a complaint with the state, saying a dog she took in to be euthanized was being kept alive and used for blood transfusions.

This is a very unusual story. The vet in question seems to have been a pretty well liked dude, going by the majority of his reviews. Just another sad case of "don't trust anybody."

He may be as well-liked, by people, as anyone in the town. But, when I take my dog in to be euthanized, it is because I do not want him to suffer any longer. It is a difficult decision, and one I do not like to have to make.

But, when I find out that he is still alive, suffering, and being kept in a cage for years, where he is used for Frankenstein experiments with other dogs, the perpetrator of this crime deserves the hottest place in Hell.

He does not deserve another chance, and he needs to cough up his entire life savings to the dog owners he betrayed.

I completely agree with you. One thing I don’t understand is why the owners didn’t stay with the dog while it was being euthanized. That’s a very hard thing to do, I had to do it myself very recently, but I can’t imagine dropping off my beloved dog to be put to sleep and not stay with it.
