That would be playing the way the Democrats do and we all know that Republicans just aren’t capable of doing that.

I have to say, it seems to me that all committee members should be able to interview witnesses.

Tell ya what. You convince dingy harry to do the same on his committees - and hearings. He puts on more dems - because they're in the majority. And tell him to let bills come to a vote on the floor - he only allows votes when he sure he's gonna win. How's that 'fair' or even legal?

And have peelface explain why, when SHE was speaker, her committees had an even bigger % of dems than pubbies.

It's the way it's DONE - the party in the majority gets to set the balance.

She only wants 'fair' when SHE'S not in charge.

go talk to Nanny P about fairness and get back to us....

I think you misread or misinterpreted what I said. “Stretch” Pelosi is bitching because of two issues: one is the 50/50 split of the committee, and the other is that Democratic committee members will not be allowed to interview witnesses directly. I am just fine with the 7/5 makeup of the committee. In fact I welcome and applaud it, because that’s the only way you’ll ever get anywhere, and anyway Pelosi set that precedent. However, I’ll reiterate that it seems to me that *all* committee members should actually get to interview witnesses. Perhaps they could set a reasonable time limit (not five minutes, which is a joke), and also allow the Chair to cut them off if they’re just grandstanding instead of actually asking someone a question. But if five members of the committee can’t ask questions, that does seem unfair.

Read over my own reply here .... I meant to say that “Stretch” WANTS a 50/50 split, whereas Boehner has announced that it will be 7/5 Pubbie/Dim. (And again, I think that’s exactly the way it should be.)

Great clip of Gowdy.

I hope he sees this through from here as strongly as he says he will.

It will get harder, I think. I hope he is up to it. I think he is the right guy.

Godspeed, Mr. Gowdy.
