No tornadoes here. Just bright sunshine. We did get a nice little rain the other night. My yard is looking happier for it. :)

#9 Three Dog Night: The Show Must Go OnThey started this song by quoting Entrance of the Gladiators by Julius Fuczik, a standard of the marching band repertory, and it went downhill from there. None of the DJs at KING liked this song, and we all assumed that it would be the end of the band. We were right. There was nowhere to go after this.

#8 Mike Oldfield: Tubular BellsMichael Oldfield started out at age 15 as a folk duo act with his sister Sally, known as the Sallyangie. I still remember Children of the Sun from 1968. Its not a total embarrassment, just a minor embarrassment.
The complete Tubular Bells runs the better part of an hour, and Oldfield scored it for both small ensemble and full orchestra. It gained fame when William Friedkin used it in the soundtrack of The Exorcist. What makes it spooky is the canonic use of a minimalist fragment of melody in A minor, which makes it sound like a soul lost in the void and going around in circles.
For the single, the piece was cut down to something that could air on AM radio without people turning it off due to length. Its butchered, but it captures the lost effect Oldfield intended.

Sounds exciting...returning to lots of things you know.
Will you drive? Fly? Move your own stuff?
Are you looking forward to the move?

Driving. Professionals moving my stuff. While I enjoyed Georgia, the heat and mosquitos killed it for me.

#7 Blue Swede: Hooked on a FeelingThis was the Mark James song that helped establish him as a founder of Hot Country. B.J. Thomas had the original hit in 1969. This was a very strange version in which the band learned the words phonetically.
