A six year old is unlikely to disobey the command of a uniformed adult to put the gun down on the ground.

An angry and slightly demented granny is very likely to do what she damn well pleases and to hell with everyone else.

There is a huge difference between a child who is immature rather than irrational and an aged and demented adult. The former has very little concept or practice at exercising personal autonomy while the latter is very practiced at it and will be highly resistant to being told what to do (like giving up driving).

I don’t know how isolated her home is, but if a 93 year old was firing off rounds in my neighborhood, it would be very unsafe and she would constitute a threat not just to the cop but to people in their homes nearby.

Doesn’t alter anything... Did she fire off rounds because the cop confronted her?
