Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is stacking the House select committee on Benghazi with lawyers as he looks to demonstrate that the panel will be a serious investigation and not a partisan exercise.
The Speaker announced his picks to serve under Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on the special committee on Friday, selecting a mix of junior and senior members and adding an additional former federal prosecutor in freshman Rep. Susan Brooks (R-Ind.).
In addition to Brooks and Gowdy, Boehners appointees are Reps. Peter Roskam (Ill.), Jim Jordan (Ohio), Lynn Westmoreland (Ga.), Mike Pompeo (Kan.) and Martha Roby (Ala.).

Hillary is immune to all this.
And the Dem sheep will still flock to the polls on command....except Hillary won't be running so this will simply be a side line to whatever candidate the Dems have hidden....just like they hid Obama...and pretended to love Hillary.
Why no Louie Gohmert?
if I remember correctly.
one suggested possible committee member
had a conflict of interest.
perhaps someone at FR knows for sure.
Because he belongs there.
The only reason Gowdy got this committee assignment is because Boehner thinks he's handed him a hot potato. Boehner is not going to actually enable him to succeed.
"Pelosi stacks special Benghazi committee with partisan hacks"
If Boehner had chosen non-lawyers, the headline would be:
“Speaker Boehner stacks special Benghazi committee with representatives lacking legal education”
Unfortunately, you could be right.
However, since everything Hillary touches seems to become a disaster, it might be good thing for voters to know about it before they hire her to be the Most Powerful Man in the World. Voters might well do it anyway, even if they learn this was Hillary's Gunwalker with surface to air missiles -- they happily jumped off the cliff twice in 2008 and 2012 -- but they should go off the cliff and into the rocks below with their eyes wide open this time.
I don't think Hillary is physically capable of becoming President, but I think the people around her, particularly Bill, believe that she is. On a good day she may even believe it herself.
BTW I think "stacking" the committee with a bunch of Republican lawyers is exactly the right thing to do.
Too late for boner to stop Gowdy from success.
Since Gowdy is now the official Chairman, boner's hands are tied and he can not put the genie back in the bottle.
Gowdy will collect much coupe and the demonRATs will be running for the tall grass.
This is going to be so brutal that even the msm will be forced to cover the results.
Heck, congress is stacked with lawyers, which is a problem in itself.
Why does The Hill try to make it a bad thing that the group has “lawyers”? They are there to combat the Obama regime’s lawyers.
Trey Gowdy was an excellent choice as Chairman, being that he is a former Federal Prosecutor. He knows the laws and knows how to ask questions of those who will be required to testify under oath.
This Special Committee will permit having liars from various departments of the government at the table at the same time. When they were before the different committees they would just blame things on another department. Now, they will all have to sit side by side and blame each other. Ha!
Why no Louie Gohmert?
Louie would be great! However, I think he is going to be used in going after the IRS scandal, which may also get a select committee. I hope.
This has the potential to get very interesting.
It could be that the dems are in panic mode and made a big mistake. Anyone accused of things will either have to accept it or volunteer to come before the committee, and be grilled by an all-’pub committee of lawyers.

Castro, mayor of San Antonio.
I think you are correct.
Something like 80% of Congress are lawyers.
Who is he supposed to choose from?
I want serious questions. NOT softball ramblings from Cummings.
