Right Wing News Endorses Ben Sasse For Senate In Nebraska

Ben Sasse is not only the most conservative candidate in the Nebraska Senate race, his primary opponent Shane Osborn is caught up in a scandal revolving around a fake memo lauding his military service. Given that Osborn actually served with honor and distinction in the military, it’s hard to understand what his thinking was at the time.

Whatever it may have been, it looks terrible and is an indication that he may be prone to ethics issues. Like say, using taxpayer-funded staff for campaign politics and publicly lying about being endorsed by 51 economists..

The choice between Osborn and Sasse should actually be very easy. Ben Sasse is more conservative, more of a grassroots leader and he doesn’t have the ethics issues Osborn does. There is another candidate in the race, Sid Dinsdale, who’s such a squish he could genuinely run as a Democrat in Nebraska.

So, why are establishment Republicans in Nebraska and Mitch McConnell backing Osborn through a Super Pac?

Simple; They’re afraid Sasse is going to be another Ted Cruz or Mike Lee — and yes, they do consider that to be a bad thing.

On the other hand, Ben Sasse has been endorsed by Freedomworks, the Club for Growth, The Madison Project, The Senate Conservatives Fund, The Family Research Council PAC, Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Mark Levin, Paul Ryan, Rick Santorum and Tom Coburn.

You can add Right Wing News to that group because today we’re also endorsing Ben Sasse for Senate.

As I've said many times, we won't win every election this year...but we will win some! And we're on our way to winning this senate seat in Nebraska, and replacing relatively moderate Mike Johannes with conservative Ben Sasse!

“What is up with Osborne’s military story?”

Something about a phony letter. I haven’t even bothered looking into it. Mitch McConnell’s preferred candidate is now in third and Sasse is likely to win on Tuesday.

I have sen Asse’s name on here, I have a general gist he is one of the good guys... btw, I see you are working hard on keeping us all updated, thank you ;^)

(Infuriates me when people lie about military.. took me a long time to accept people who had never served to be seen walking around in uniform (Fatigues or BDUs) as a style/fashion :/ )

He was the command pilot on the Navy spy plane that was forced down by the Chinese and detained for a few days. The problem with his military career is that he has been running on the idea that what he did at the time (he did his job) was heroic in some way (he did his job). That has been the implication through each of his runs for office here in Nebraska. There are a lot of veterans and retirees here in Ne. and most see his approach as B.S. So, he came up with the endorsement letter from the Navy only it wasn’t from the Navy as such but from a buddy who is still associated with the Navy Dept. Most recently, he came out that he has been endorsed by a couple dozen economists but most of them who have spoken up say they have not endorsed him. He is a GOPe state party tool, another good reason to say NO! On Tuesday, my vote goes to Sasse.

I heard him on Mark Levin’s show last week. He sounds great and very conservative. Sasse for the win!
