Russian Minister Threatens To Fly Bomber Jet Into Romania

Posted on 05/10/2014 1:27:11 PM PDT by Tailgunner Joe

Russian deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin was not pleased when Romania refused to let his flight enter their airspace and forced his plane to divert back to Moscow.

In response, Rogozin tweeted early Saturday that if he would ever find himself flying over Romania again, he would be on a plane packing a lot more firepower.

The translated tweet reads: “Upon U.S. request, Romania has closed its air space for my plane. Ukraine doesn’t allow me to pass through again. Next time I’ll fly on board TU-160.”

The TU-160 is the Russian military’s most advanced and largest strategic bomber in its arsenal.

Not surprisingly, this tweet did not go over well with Romania. According to Reuters, Romania’s foreign ministry demanded a clarification from Moscow on Saturday if Rogozin’s bombastic statement represents “the Russian Federation’s official position towards Romania as an EU and NATO member.”

Rogozin was one of the high-ranking Russian officials sanctioned by the United States in March in retaliation for Russia’s annexation of Crimea and this is the reason why Romania refused passage to him.

He does not appear to be backing down from his comments and his twitter feed continues to show defiance towards the Romanian government.

Another tweet issued on Saturday after news broke about his aggressive comments reads:

Well, Sirs from Romania, we'll soon explain it all to you - who you are and what we think of you
This isn’t the first time the deputy prime minister has made headlines for explosive statements made on Twitter. During the build-up to an eventually aborted U.S. intervention into Syria last September, Rogozin remarked that the West’s policy towards the Middle East resembles “a monkey with a grenade.”

When learning of his sanctioned status in March, he tweeted that President Obama is a “prankster” and laughed off the penalty imposed on him by the U.S.

The “democratic” mask has been torn Putin's neo-Soviet Russia. Every nation in the world sees the brutal Russian dictatorship for what it really is. An aggressive belligerent revanchist ethnonationalist rogue regime.

We buy the engine for our mainstay launch vehicle, the Atlas 5, from this A**clown.

SpaceX got an injunction against any more money going to him last week and yesterday the Obama administration argued successfully in court to reverse that and force U.S. taxpayers to continue sending money to him and his missile engine company, NPO Energomash.

Ain’t that great? Kinda like sending cash to Hitler.

If Rogozin was an American, his “monkey with a grenade” wisecrack would have all the US media denouncing him as a racist, given who the President is.

That’s fine. Their domestic and foreign policy resembles the relationship of vory and suki.

Herman Goering, “The next time I fly over Poland,
it will be in a Stuka!”.

I don’t think he’s flying tourist class.

“a monkey with a grenade.”

That monkey may soon be throwing around more then just a grenade.

“Upon U.S. request, Romania has closed its air space for my plane. Ukraine doesn’t allow me to pass through again. Next time I’ll fly on board TU-160.”

I'm just guessing here but aren't international flight agreement applicable only to civil airliner flights?
Was this delusional Russian flying on a military flight?

The TU-160 is the Russian military’s most advanced and largest strategic bomber in its arsenal.

Maybe Romania can purchase whatever the Russians used to shoot down the passenger airliner Korea FL 007... ?

He’s been ruling since 1999. That sure seems like a normal political situation no? LOL

He’s a strong man dictator. He’s got his guys in charge of the political body over there and he’s going to rule as long as he wants.
