Posted on 05/10/2014 3:19:21 PM PDT by Hotlanta Mike
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I don't think you have to have a committee of seven experts. I think it is good to choose people who will not seek the limelight. The most important thing here is that the legitimacy of the committee will not come from the composition, but will come from its results. So, the Democrats imagine that if they boycott it will delegitimize it and the results will be ignored. Perhaps initially, but all the committee has to do is to discover new facts as we discovered a week and a half ago with the [Ben] Rhodes memo and that you cannot ignore.
So I hope that Pelosi decides that she does not want to be an accomplice to the sideshow and withholds Democratic members. It won't affect the result, but what it will do, it will allow the Republicans to follow up in their questions in a coherent way without being interrupted by Democrats hurling softballs or making speeches that are ways to essentially exonerate the administration.

Someone remind Charles that this issue is over. He seems confused about his statements.
Clam up Chuck. you proved your worth a couple weeks back.
The only hope of Americans ever getting to the truth is if Pelosi keeps her clowns at home and away from these hearings. Americans don’t want another circus. Keep the commie ‘RATS OUT!
I agree fully with the good Dr K.
Remember how rude and personal Condi Rice was treated by Barbara Boxer at the 9/11 hearings? I do. Let them keep their clown suits, race cards, their giant vagina outfits and other distractions out of the conference room. Adults have lots of work that must be properly done asap.
Yeah, that’s just about enough delay and obfuscation from the party and their media organs always claiming the GOP is “obstructionist”.
Gotta satisfy due process before the indictments are handed down ... then plea bargains, convictions and sentences.
“Chuck” is exactly right on this.
Chuck was exactly convinced the other week that it was over. A lot of people apparently smarter and wiser than Chuck had the sense to not go on TV and embarrass conservatism by sounding like a democrat and miming their talking points.
So what if hes right ‘now’. Lots of us are right. The thing is he can no longer be trusted.
The thing is he can no longer be trusted.
He’s right more often than he’s wrong.
Thats not the point. When the chips were down, he spit in the face of all the victims of Bhenghazi. He stood there telling the families of those people that it was ‘over’.
That is about as disgusting as it gets whether he did it in person, on TV or in an article. We need to stop making excuses for our ‘heroes’ when they pull this crap and call it what it is.
He’s no hero to most and I was also ticked off when he said that. He made a bad judgment call on that one but like I said before, he’s more right than wrong.
Maybe it would be best if you quit watching him.
Maybe it would be best if we all stopped watching him.
In what way is this issue over?
I don’t know. But Charles said it was last week.
I will continue to watch him and his audience will not decrease.
We can all make mistakes bro. He retracted that stuff, so... ease down man.
I enjoy watching him put Juan Williams and other libs in their places.
Then don’t complain when you get more of it.
Oh, shut up, you pretentious old Neo. So sick of how smart this guy is—he’s completely late to the Benghazi boat and he thinks he’s captain!
Like he had a choice?
You are a good guy Laz. But sometimes peoples feet need to be held to the fire, not just easily overlooked.
Then dont complain when you get more of it.
I won’t. Krauthammer is doing battle and he is on our side.
Eisenhower and Marshall didn’t send Patton home when he made a mistake in Sicily. You would have probably fired Patton.
Krauthammer believes that the media and the democrats can't ignore facts. Wonder what planet he's been living on the last half century.
I’d have dressed him down if he screwed up. Is that wrong?
No shizzle Sherlock!
Boxer is an embarrassment to America exceeded pretty much only by pelosi and O. I hope they all retire ASAP ( and stay Away from the limelight, USA certainly doesn’t need three more jimmy Carter’s to keep on yakking senseless drivel for years and years)
Ike did and it was right. But he encouraged him to fight another day. He used constructive criticism.
I get the impression that you are a one issue voter...if you don’t like 100% of a candidate, you sit out an election.
I think when Jimmy Carter (finally) crosses over, his funeral will be one of the most sparsely attended ever. If it’s soon, Obama will probably send Susan Rice or John Kerry, two lobotomized Paid Liars who show the bare minimum of compasion or human like behavior.
Today’s Dems don’t have much use for Carter either, because he’s always a critic or back seat driver. I suspect the largest contingent at the Carter Services will be ambassadors from Venezuela, Boliva and Zimbabwe. Barbra Bush may go to stand next to Mrs. Carter, or she may talk one of her sons into going, since Obama won’t and Michelle is getting her nails done that day in preparation for another vacation to Rome.
I never sit out elections and have plenty of issues. The gay thing, Amnesty, landuse, being lied to by members of my own political affiliation, Investigations that go nowhere.
And I am sick to death of talking head hero worship or anything close to it. People seem to think they are some sort of Savants that are immune from being criticized or being held accountable. they are not.
Sure, everyone makes mistakes. You want to tell me with a straight face that someone of his income and education makes a ‘mistake’ that the newest freeper wouldn’t?
Lindsay Ghramm is ‘right’ on a lot of his votes but works like a dog behind the scenes to sabotage conservatives. For Chuck to sit there and tell the world that Bhenghazi was over while everything under the sun proved ‘over’ wasn’t in the same universe is a little more that a slip up. It was a last ditch effort to assure Bhoner wouldn’t have to do the committee.
I refuse to eat peanuts until he goes down to his just reward.
I appreciate your points. But to say Krauthammer could influence Boner is a stretch.
Have a good rest of the weekend.
He was right a month ago, and he is right today.
I don’t know why that made me laugh, but it did. Maybe at the service, there will be a vendor like at a ball game; Get Your Hot Georgia Peanuts! Two bags for five Dollars, Presidential Peanuts!”
It was. Then. Charles calls them as he sees them.
But now that the House at long last seems intent on a proper investigation, it won't be over until it's really over.
And hopefully, they'll also appoint a select committee to investigate Lois Lerner and the IRS.
Carter has been such an embarrassment to USA it’s beyond description. Not to mention all the damage he did in office. Satan will probably have a special locked room just for jimmy, so he can’t screw up Hell like he screwed up America. Even the devil has his standards to maintain, after all. And satan will feed him peanuts through a little hole in the wall. All peanuts. 24/7/365.
It was over last week? Really? And then the Blue Fairy went POOF! with her magic wand and just like that, it was there again! And all the happy children had cookies and played board games!
It was never over last week. For the love of God....
More or less. With John Boehner in the role of the Blue Fairy.
It was over until the House finally got the cojones to prosecute it properly, and Dr K was merely assessing the situation as it then stood.
But it wasnt. WE out here in reality SAW nothing happening. But that committee was being debated/argued/fought over for months non stop. By definition it wasn’t over. It was never over. There was always something going on. It was being actively discussed in the news, on the web, in bars and churches and in DC. Not for a nanosecond was it ever, ever over.
But that aside, Who is some talking head to make that statement? He is a guy on TV. That’s all he is. He has an opinion no wiser or more relevant than yours or mine. That’s what I find so frustrating. People put all this faith and trust into what? a TV personality?
Few here would say CK was any greater authority than Rush and Rush himself, numero uno on the charts freely says he is an entertainer. CK may have a degree in whatever. So did Jon Kerry, Edwards and any random Democrat. -To quote Brietbart...SO?
He was either flat wrong in the face of all evidence to the contrary or he intentionally lied. OR he trying to help it BE over to benefit someone. There is no other conclusion to draw. 99%mof FR knew that WHATEVER was going to happen, it wasn’t ‘over’ so he has no excuse. After the fact explanations he gives miss the point. His ‘job’ such as it is, is an expert. Well, the expert blew it. And what purpose does an expert serve when he can’t make a determination obvious to 99% of posters on an average joe political website? Seriously. He;d be fired in business for blowing a call that bad.
But as a hero of the right, he has job security. And just calling him out on it gets people frazzled. Why? Why is he immune?
He’s not. And it ain’t his first trip over the fence.
You want to tell me with a straight face that someone of his income and education makes a mistake that the newest freeper wouldnt?
That question makes no sense at all. You mean someone has to be a freeper for a while to be smart? That’s an arrogant attitude.
It makes perfect sense. He is supposed to be the expert and we, regular people could clearly see what he could not. What is confusing about that?
There is nothing arrogant about it either. FR posters do not bill themselves as political gurus. We don’t get paid for professional opinions and evaluations as he does. We are average people.
Average means just that. Average. You have to compare something to something else to get an average. But since you asked, No, you don’t have to be a freeper to be smart. Plenty of freepers prove that daily. Plenty also prove the reverse. Same as non freepers. Thus...wait for it...Average”.
Freepers are a tiny drop in the bucket. Too few compared to the whole to average out.
On Earth, the sky on a sunny summer afternoon is blue.
Surely you cannot find fault with that statement.
If it’s raining 200 miles away, the sky is not blue.
But it’s a SUNNY day. no rain here or there. Not even in the rainforest. It’s like me. Filled with sunshine enlightening all it touches, bring beauty and serenity wherever it goes. Ask anyone on the Romney threads. They’ll vouch for me.
