Amnesty Issue Hits GOP Race In Nebraska

A new campaign-trail pledge to vote against any immigration increases took center stage in the Nebraska GOP Senate primary race on Friday, when candidate Shane Osborne slammed his rival for not signing the pledge and also charged him with deception.

“Nebraskans are learning that Ben Sasse isn’t the candidate he’s pretending to be [and] on the most important issues of the day, from Immigration to ObamaCare, Sasse is no conservative,” said a statement from the campaign, only four days before voting begins on Tuesday.

Osborn did some sleight-of-hand thing, getting an endorsement on US Navy letterhead, which was not from any navy official.

I really don't see any big issue with Sasse's university importing three college professors from abroad. This is a quid pro quo type of thing which happens in the academic community frequently-- an American professor gets to experience life abroad; a foreign professor gets to experience life in America. It isn't like it is displacing an American from the job because, without the quid pro quo, there would probably just be no exchange, not a job opening.

The possible exception is the imported soccer coach. Let's face it-- most American's don't give a hoot about soccer so we're unlikely to produce a soccer coach with the same qualifications or even in the same ballpark.

If a university in Great Britain started an American football program, they would be just as likely to import a coach from the states.

Why wouldn’t Sasse sign the no immigration pledge?

Immigration isn’t the problem, the wrong type of immigration and the wrong type of immigrants are.

He’s too busy campaigning. I think more challengers should become aware of the immigration scorecard groups.

NumbersUSA is the biggest group. Walter Jones was the only A-rated member in NC. Shane Osborn is the only one who bothered to fill out his survey.

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has more money and ran ads against Paul Ryan. They also helped Spencer Abraham lose in 2000.

After Jeff Flake, Rand Paul and Paul Ryan some voters are less worried about a bad fiscal vote. They are more worried about an immigration bill that Obama will sign and the damage will never be repealed.

With U6 hovering at 20% ALL immigration needs to be halted.

I dont either.

The only issue was the involvement of the university or Sasse’s donors opposing the Fremont ban on illegal aliens.

I can understand if Sasse had nothing to do with it or he had to play along with the liberals he was dealing with. One conservative at a university is not going to change their pandering to illegals.

ALL? Would that include the two executives from Japan who supervise our manufacturing plant which provides good full-time jobs to 150 Americans?

Yes. all. I have no clue as to what Japanese are doing in your plant if they are actually immigrants or just temporary. I have done temp contracts overseas too.

Goodlatte, Obama and Boehner only have plans for more low-skilled immigration.

“Why wouldn’t Sasse sign the no immigration pledge?”
*******************************************************************

Ahh...he just found out about it. You do realize that this is simply a desperate last minute ploy by the truth-challenged Shane Osborne and his floundering campaign?

The ONLY thing they have left is to spread innuendo and FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt for those of you unfamiliar with this standard GOPe ploy) among Sasse’s MANY supporters in Nebraska.
