A pair of Detroit thugs obviously had no idea who they were messing with when they targeted Paris Ainsworth, a 51-year-old grandma who carries a .45 caliber handgun. There’s a reason her siblings now jokingly refer to her as “Rambo.”
Ainsworth had just arrived home after working a grueling double shift on Saturday night when she noticed two men moving closer to her as she was preparing to exit her car. Sensing possible danger, she pulled out her .45 caliber handgun and put it in her pocket. She got her concealed carry permit about two years ago.
As it turned out, Ainsworth’s gut feeling about the men was correct.

There is a strange sort of sea change going on in Detroit. It is sort of like having sunk as far as they could suddenly the good people that are left are realizing “our hero ain’t going to show” and are taking care of business themselves.
It helps that the police chief is outright telling the people that they can’t save them.
Curious as to why UPI put this under “Odd News”:
I’m surprised they weren’t aspiring rappers hoping to turn their lives around. That’s how the media describes them here in Boston.

“I said you bleep bleep” I’ll bet those are words that the punks will hear in their nightmares for a long,long time.
Where did they find that reporter? Obviously NOT the product that any “Journalism School” would be proud of.
Detroit is a large market and they usually weed-out people like him before he gets there. This story will HAUNT him through his career - the idea of someone benefiting (i.e., staying alive) due to a concealed handgun. What the hell style manual is this reporter answering to? And where is Bloomberg to grab her gun?
Lots of questions. Hopefully we get some answers.
LOL...the only thing I wished the reporter had done differently was TOTALLY IGNORE the condition of the attackers after noting they were arrested at the Hospital...it would have served them right (i.e., we don’t care), and he almost pulled that off.
One of the best TV news reports I’ve EVER seen in my lifetime.
Somebody ping Bob Beckel. He’s always challenging Eric Bolling to come up with stories where citizens defend themselves with hand guns.
This is just one of those happy, good grrrl wins stories that just makes you smile. She was confident, brave, and articulate. A clearly righteous shooting. The fact that she just happens to be black is icing on the cake.

Strange that the perps were able to get themselves to the hospital. A .45 with hollow points should have parked them where they stood. Either she missed or she was being polite.
I do have a question.
How does someone shot by a .45 end up in the hospital? The main reason to use a .45 is to send someone to the morgue, not the hospital.
Answered by the results. Not a miracle weapon. Unlike the cops, at least she hit something other than a stationary elderly woman or a presenting forward, barking dog.
