Pope Francis: 'Tea Party Catholic'?
Breitbart's Big Peace ^ | May 10, 2014 | Robert Wilde

Posted on 05/10/2014 8:46:21 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

On Breitbart News Saturday, Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon and Editor in Chief Alex Marlow discussed Pope Francis's remarks to the United Nations where he called for "legitimate redistribution of economic benefits by the State," using government and the private sector. Bannon asked guest Austin Ruse, former head of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute and a Breitbart contributor, “Is Pope Francis a Commie?"

"I know he is a Jesuit," Bannon said, explaining that Jesuits sit at the vanguard of the Communist revolution in Latin America there, before asking if "Pope Francis been taken over by liberation theology?” Bannon, who also hosts Breitbart News Sunday, noted that the pontiff had tweeted from his official account a couple of weeks ago that “inequality is the root of social evil.”

Ruse answered by saying that, “I don’t think he is a Communist. I think that he is largely misunderstood.”(continued)

What do you think the Pope is saying that makes him a tea party type?

You think he supports 1780 American types and opposes them being overthrown, and replaced with something more European like?

>> THEN they’ll have the moral authority to speak on this topic

Exactly what a Liberal would say.

And the Church does have the moral authority regardless of your contempt.

The Catholics are wrong, we can’t make a sudden switch back to the way we used to live, but we need to start disassembling this mess that the left has created, continuing to add to a direction that is wrong and hurting us in social areas and poverty, will only continue to make things worse.

Not in a sudden way that hurts you or anyone, but we need to start the slow process to return to the correctness that America proved.

He keeps wanting to add on to the destruction and wrong path, rather than to look at what worked in the United States for so long, and then start moving back in that direction.

He isn’t looking for the answer, he is restating his centuries old war against the American breakthrough, and breakout.

The pope may be many things, but he is neither German nor a Nazi.

I didn't bother to read the article, because the term "wealth redistribution" pretty much doesn't need interpretation.

Blatant hypocrisy considering just the Vatican alone is supposedly worth $10-$15B

What happened with the resignation of Pope Benedict? Now we have a socialist/communist pope? What is going on here? I am a Catholic since birth and yes I do wonder what is up with this Pope. Sorry, but I do not accept him as authority over Christ’s Church. There is a definite change in direction for the Church and it is toward socialism/ communism. Not going there sorry... John Paul II .... I still and always love you. You fought this ideology.

Here in the States, “legitimate redistribution of economic benefits by the State” could include our governments, for example, selling off land excess to what they really need. And not to put too fine a point of it, there’s a lot of land they really don’t need to own.

And by the way, the same government that is $17T in debt. If there ever was national land sales, that would need to be the intent of the expenditure. Not wealth distribution.

Simple enough question. What’s more important to you, God or the United States?

The Catholic Church does more to feed, clothe, etc. the people of the world than any other church. Sheer numbers. So what is your point? BTW, the Vatican is not rich; do some digging and find out about the flow of money. They run a tight ship.

Surely you are not willfully neglecting to ignore how many Catholic Charities have a direct feeding tube into the US Treasury? All avenues to the treasury crafted by elected US Catholic politicians. 'You know' like Obamacare, which I am considering calling forever more, 'Catholic-Care'. I mean really now, it is full of 'benefits' for some, paid for by the tax collectors in charge and redistributed by the gods of the state. Saint Boner sure has refused to pull that funding plug of benefit redistribution!!!!!

Real as cancer. 400-500 years of wasted effort on the part of your ancestors in the wrong direction. The Truth, which the Catholic Church represents has been here for 2,000 years and is not going anywhere. And when the protestant love affair with the United States is over The Church will still be there to pick up the pieces and help us move on.

Those of us who are concerned about our civilization better start thinking about how we are going to help do that.
