Donbass refused to participate in the ridiculous psevdoreferendume terrorists: the siloviki and more control checkpoints. VIDEO Illegal referendum showed that extremists have NO SUPPORT among the population. In nine districts Luhansk region referendum did NOT PASS.

This was from the scene said the journalist Artem Shevchenko on his page on Facebook, reports Tsenzor.NET.

Today, May 11 terrorists tried to hold a so -called "referendum", rather psevdoreferendum declaration of independence of the DNI and LC . About ILLEGALITY and ridiculousness of THIS EVENT reflects not only TRAVESTY "voting", which DOES NOT fit in any frame the CONCEPT of "voting," when people vote ANYWHERE and ANYONE, WITHOUT the presentation of documents WITHOUT lists, WITHOUT duly registered ballots, but the lack of wanting to vote at all. 9In the northern regions of Lugansk NO VOTE AT ALL, HAS NOT BEEN and is not provodlitsya and wanting to come to the polls and cast their vote for something was already 8 people. And farmers are NOT interested in any destabilization"- told a journalist about the mood in the Luhansk region .

The Russian government claimed the Crimea referendum resulted in a 96.7% vote in favor of annexation, although a Russian government agency later wrote on its website that turnout was only 30%, with only half voting in favor of annexation.

All of the video evidence is that the turnout was big, as acknowledged by many western sources, as well.

The facts are what the facts are. They don’t change just because you would wish them away. Or, they don’t meet the EuroMaidanPr propaganda line.

Ukrainian military forces stopped and seized a vehicle carrying three armed men transporting guns, ammunition, and an estimated 100,000 ballots for a May 11 referendum already marked “yes” for the eastern city of Donetsk to break away and form an independent state, Kyiv Post reports.

The men — which Ukrainian media have described as “armed terrorists” — were found with ballots in the trunk of their car on the outskirts of the city, a police source told the Ukraine Observer.

Many cities in eastern Ukraine have been under siege for about a month, including Donetsk, where the city’s main government building and a number of schools have been seized by pro-Russian separatists believed to be backed by Moscow.

The new reports of fraudulent ballots brings to mind a similar incident in Crimea, the region recently annexed to Russia following a March 16 vote. A senior White House official told Reuters there was “concrete evidence” some of those ballots arrived to Crimean cities pre-marked.

The Russian government claimed the Crimea referendum resulted in a 96.7% vote in favor of annexation, although a Russian government agency later wrote on its website that turnout was only 30%, with only half voting in favor of annexation.

While the May 11 referendum seems to be moving forward as planned, even Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a surprising call to postpone the vote “in order to create the necessary conditions” for a dialogue between local representatives and authorities in Kiev, The Daily Beast reported.

That reminds me of a few years back when about three thousand ballots; all pre-checked for the Democrat Party, were found bundled up in baling wire and floating in the San Francisco Bay. One of the ballot organizers was fired on separate charges for embezellment and inappropriate us of funds. It seems she had a girl friend who was in need of a few thousand dollars to complete ‘her’ sex reassignment hormonal therapy. It made quite a story for summer reading. Weeks later, nobody ever brought the subject up again. Poof! the topic was gone, just like the money, just like the floating bale of ballots.

There were eight polling booths in a city of 500,000 people, according to RT. (Mariupol) That's 60,000 people per polling booth. Guess where the RT video and photos of large crowds were taken, tcrlaf?

Given that, even if only a fraction of a fraction of the people went to vote, there would still be a crowd. In comparison, in America's 2004 election there were 114,000 polling booths. That's 2,500 people per polling booth.

Photos and videos can be edited, manipulated or deliberately made myopic. This should always be taken into account before taking positions you're going to advocate for.

The problem with your photos here are that if even RT admits there were only eight polling booths in Mariupol, it's very likely that there were only a few polling booths in other areas as well. Especially considering that the rebels don't even control large tracts of the East, nor do they (of their own admission) have any real expertise in organizing referendums.

Because of this, all the photos and videos you would find of crowds lining up to vote, in the context of 'much popular support in the East for referendum' is thrown in serious doubt.

Because there's not enough polling booths, even if only 10% go to vote, of course there's going to be crowds. Heck, with that few polling booths the Russians could have even paid the crowds to vote, and then taken said photos and video to prove your point.

To put it another way.

Everyone in this thread could go there and see long line-ups and take hundreds of pictures and video and post it on Twitter, not realizing that in reality that was one of the only poll booths in town. Because that single factor changes everything, and vastly increases the possibility of Russian deception.

Just like a Potemkin town could deceive a tourist, while if said tourist instead decided to sneakily trek across the dozens of other towns in the area, the ability to Potemkinize every town the tourist visits on a whim vastly decreases.

I’ve always thought that there is definitely a restless minority of the East that would like to separate from Ukraine, but the photos and video on Twitter and that you’ve posted don’t in any way change ‘minority’ to ‘majority’.

No, it’s just confirmation bias on your part. I’m using math. If there is eight polling booths in a city of 500,000 people, even if only 20% go to vote, there will be large crowds correlating your photos and video.

Most of the photos that you’ve posted with the large crowds, and the photos and video that RT have posted, are indeed from Mariupol, openly admitted by RT. With only eight polling booths, again as admitted by RT. God only knows how few booths that they’ve managed to set up elsewhere. But going by RT’s info:

Considering that in America, you still had line-ups with 2,500 per polling booth. Since 60% of Americans voted, that’s roughly 1,500 per polling booth not even including mail-ins, overseas, military etc.

In Mariupol, there were 60,000 per polling booth. If there were 20% who went to vote, which is even less than the number cited in polls (including Pew) as wanting to secede, that’s still 12,000 per polling booth. Almost ten times the crowd.

the time that is 600,000 for 8 polling
places. 75,000 per polling place

Pols open 12 hrs so computes to 6300 through per hr,
3600 seconds in an hr, figures about 2 per second

Does anybody know who represented the pro Ukrainian voters when the votes were counted?

Being that anybody in Donetsk who showed any pro Ukrainian sentiments was attacked, jailed, tortured, beaten or killed over the last few weeks, who would want to represent the pro Ukrainian voters when the vote was counted?

In short anybody who thinks that the vote is legitimate has their head up their rear end.
