Liberals are always preaching the values of diversity and inclusion. Regrettably, such platitudes are just rhetoric, because upon closer examination liberals hate diversity.
As evidence, just examine some recent and disturbing activities on the campus of Rutgers University. After former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice was invited to give the commencement address, liberals went crazy. In February, the faculty council passed a resolution demanding that the university withdraw their invitation to Rice. Thereafter, student protesters stormed the office of the Rutgers President to express their disapproval of the selection and condemn Rice as a war criminal.
What is ironic in this whole series of events is that Rice no conservative, but a very moderate Republican, who just happened to serve in the George W. Bush administration. Her academic and professional credentials are extraordinary and Rutgers students should have been extremely grateful to have someone of her caliber address them.
Unfortunately, only negative protests were heard from students and faculty, so Dr. Rice eventually decided to decline the invitation. In her letter to the university, Rice noted that “I have defended America’s belief in free speech and the exchange of ideas. These values are essential to the health of our democracy.”
Sadly, it seems that universities are no longer committed to free speech or open debate as only liberalism is allowed. This trend has been occurring across the nation for years. Whereas, universities are supposed to be laboratories for free discussion, embracing all ideological viewpoints; upon closer examination, liberalism is not only dominant, it is unchallenged.
On a regular basis, conservative speakers are either completely shunned or, if they are invited, verbally and even physically attacked on campus. Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, among many others, has been targeted. Today, even moderates like Dr. Rice are unwelcome.
Among the top universities in the nation, the commencement speaker list for 2014 is a Who’s Who of liberalism. Delivering graduation addresses this year will be former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg at Harvard University, Secretary of State John Kerry at Yale University, former Vice President Al Gore at Princeton University, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at the University of California- Berkeley, MSNBC host Chris Matthews at Ohio State University, President Barack Obama at the University of California-Irvine and First Lady Michelle Obama at Dillard University in New Orleans.
At none of these universities will there be protests from conservatives outraged at the liberal commencement speaker. Conservatives understand that the overwhelming majority of college professors and administrators are liberal. They are also not threatened by a liberal giving a speech. They are secure in their beliefs and will listen with respect, even if they disagree.
In contrast, liberals are totally threatened by an opposing viewpoint. They are not at all secure in their beliefs and are worried about their set of principles being tested by a contrary position. Thus, liberals exploded with discontent at the idea of Condoleezza Rice speaking at their university.
Liberal thought is pervasive and is dominant at almost all colleges and universities in the nation. As a result, parents pay $60,000 per year in tuition at prestigious institutions such as Tulane University for professors like Melissa Harris Perry of MSNBC and James Carville, former Clinton advisor.
It is no wonder that students graduate from college and then vote for Democrat candidates. It is only through experience and trying to maintain a household, paying taxes, opening a business, dealing with bureaucracy and red tape that many of these brain washed youngsters begin to see the fallacies of liberal policies in action.
Thus, the real world proves to be a more valuable teaching tool than the liberal indoctrination in those ivory towers.
They don’t look at Ms. Rice as a Black woman. They look at her as a war monger. They feel the same with Hillary Clinton at least the ultra left do.
They even hate “diversity” of those they claim to love
The “not in my neighborhood!” types . .they’re a dime a dozen. You won’t see a lib living in a minoritiy neighborhood or sending their little spoiled brats to minority schools.
They run for the cover of conservative areas.
The MSM and Hollywood preach liberal indoctrination 24/7 until they are out of sight then it’s another story the only reason they don’t rat each other out because all of them would be exposed.
More news is hid than told agenda is the number one game.
I would never send any of my children to a liberal college nor would I send my money there.
My children and I attend conservative faith based colleges where sound rational principles are taught.
The Left looks at Dr Rice as a “race traitor” for failing to think like they believe black people should think. Now where have I heard that idea before...?
Just today I attended my daughters College Graduation.
Gwen Ifill was the commencement speaker and at least she didn’t get political.
However, there was an undergrad student speaker that was introduced as a champion for virtually everything the left is doing to destroy our country.
The audience seemed compelled to applaud his progressive positions out of guilt and an overwhelming desire to be seen as “Non-Judgmental”. That is the extent of the left, “Hashtag” I care.
It’s totalitarianism.
I didn’t know Obama was giving the address at UCI, or as we affectionately call it, University of Chinese Immigrants.
The Democrats are and have been taking over Universities in a rather direct way — rather than just owning hearts and minds of faculty and administrators — via the establishment of Institutes which operate outside of traditional university governance and structure, eg outside any departmental authority or oversight.
Diversity is not doing any country any good.
If the Balkans are all screwed up because of their diversity (which is much less widespread than ours) what do you think it is doing to America?
And let’s not think that we are better people than those living in the Balkans.
That the left is wildly hypocritical is a given. But I don't care for diversity either...
My take on this is that I wouldn’t deny them the right freedom of association, but I bitterly resent them denying it to me while practicing it themselves.
Not only are libtard principles lousy, but their virtues are lousy. They lack the integrity to be loyal to their own principles
Not only do they hate real diversity, in their souls they don’t really believe it exists.
They sincerely believe everybody in the world wants to be just like them, that the only reason an Afghan warlord isn’t a tenured professor of Womyn’s Studies at Princeton is lack of opportunity.
They quite literally do not believe anybody has other belief systems or goals.
First of all, it’s been “wrong” to disagree with liberalism in college for the past 40 years. The professors tell students what to think then the students are to regurgitate what they’ve been “taught”. Do otherwise and fail the course.
Second, I assume the cost of obama’s 5 AF1 jumbo jets to fly him to the university to read words from the teleprompter that were written by someone else will be paid for by the taxpayer.
Exactly. It’s bad enough that the government indoctrination centers turn children against their parents and all that’s decent and good, but to add insult to injury, those parents pay through the nose, go into debt, to have it done to their kids. It’s like the Chinese charging the families of those executed, for the bullets used in their execution.

This is our own fault. Today, Kids graduating the Ivy league have less education than an 80s High School grad. Sending your kids to college is an expertize in wasted money and potential.
Buy the kid a laptop and get them in an online business school or send them to a trade/engineering school to learn something that will make them money and provide a needed service while all the PHD gay art majors beg for burger jobs.
Stop wrecking your and corrupting them. We spend 20ish years as parents to send them to have everything we taught destroyed? What the hell is wrong with people?
