it is informative to remember where this jackass came from.

lots of times, for some reason, some Republicans don’t seem to think
that winning is important. —> perhaps a better way of putting it
would be that many Republicans in safe seats have the opinion that being in the majority is not important.

I am not making this up.
The reason that Wisconsin got stuck with Lucey and
Nelson and Proxmire is that some Republicans got the idea
that .............’yellow margarine is bad’.................

Is that worth losing your country over?
