My one consolation in contemplating white male privilege is that the white men who dominate Democratic campaign staffs and lefty political media and all of the really glamorous activist jobs probably feel pretty bad about it. Not enough to quit or to do much to change it, but still.
Sierra Club? White male.
Nature Conservancy? White male.
League of Conservation Voters? White male.
World Wildlife Fund? White male.
Environmental Defense Fund? White male.
Friends of the Earth? White male.
National Audubon Society? White male.
Nature Conservancy? White male.
The very top of “Big Green” is as white and male as a Tea Party meet-up. It doesn’t look like change. It doesn’t even look like America. So is it any wonder environmental groups are having trouble connecting with the public on climate change? Corporate and conservative funding of climate denial is one thing, but it’s beyond past time for the leaders of this movement to look at how their choice in leadership is affecting their strategy and messaging.

As soon as libs start off on their pseudo-science rantings, most non-whites’ eyes glaze over as though they were in the classroom. Someone who couldn’t care less about real education isn’t going to get fired up for a fake one; more than anything else, minorities see this as “white people problems”...
All the great things done by western civilzation were done by White people—medicines, politics, religion, etc... You could point out all the atrocities perpetrated by non-whites, and yet they will still tell you that the sins of whites are far more egregious than those of other races.

To counter the “war on white men” perpetrated in the West today, I point out to my (white) sons all the great things they see in everyday life designed/improved by white men (paved roads, hospitals, electricity, indoor plumbing). I also never failt to remind them how many non-whites are fed by white people every day.
They will not have any esteem or guilt issues associated with their “whiteness”, and are proud of their heritage.
Ever read the "brainy quotes" page on George Washington Carver? He seems to have valued education, hard work, intellectually stimulating pursuits, respect for other people - and God.
I suspect the public schools no longer spend much time discussing him. Wrong sort of role model for today's kids, y'know.
I pointed out the Mongols slaughtering of millions of Europeans and Asians, the Turks and the Moors invading Europe and killing millions, and the Arabs taking millions of Europeans as slaves. I also mentioned all the plagues and diseases coming from outside Europe that killed millions of Europeans. I received no reply.
