Regardless of where you stand on “Climate Change” the only facts are that we learn more over time and what we thought was settle turns out to be wrong.
Think of Copernicus who discovered that the earth circles the sun but it was settled belief that the sun circled the earth; Copernicus was called a heretic.

AGW/Climate-change is not science. Science uses the scientific method. AGW/Climate-change does not use the scientific method, therefore it ain't science. At best, AGW/Climate-change is inductive/deductive reasoning, which ain't science either.

Since AGW/Climate-change is not science, the science cannot be "settled."

I agree. My point is that the AGW lie is being propagated by the “science establishment” (including the whole network of grants and grant-money) and that it’s hard to blame the politicians when it’s the scientists themselves who are fabricating this hoax.

What do politicians know? Most of them are pretty stupid about everything. If their science advisers tell them AGW is real, they are going to run with it.

China is stamping out new coal-fired electric power plants like cookies. Dozens of them are being built right now.

The people who are promoting the idea that we should limit the emission of CO₂ into the atmosphere because of effects on the global climate somehow manage to ignore the fact that nothing the US can do will even substantially reduce the rate of growth of global CO₂ emissions.

I certainly hope the “climate change” theorists are as wrong as they appear to be - because the train has left the station if they are not.

It's being led by a huge number of scientists

Led by a few and followed by a huge number because that's where the money is. The few are people like Hansen who adjusted temperatures to artificially cool the past by ignoring urbanization but "correcting" various imaginary warming biases (see recent articles at WUWT).

Another leader is Trenberth, who while a competent scientist in his field, shows pure biased ignorance anytime he talks about any topic a little bit beyond his speciality (weather and climate dynamics). It's led by Mann who took tree rings and incompetent statistics to a new level. Eventually a lot of followers corrected his sloppy work, but the hockey stick remains ingrained in the political landscape.

The leaders are generally arrogant statists and the followers are syncophants. Science takes a back seat to political correctness.
