Sen. Marco Rubio: Yes, I'm Ready To Be President (But Is He Constitutionally Eligible?)

a 42-year-old freshman senator, but when asked by Jonathan Karl on “This Week” if he’s ready to be president, Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida answered without hesitation.

“I do … but I think that’s true for multiple other people that would want to run … I mean, I’ll be 43 this month, but the other thing that perhaps people don’t realize, I’ve served now in public office for the better part of 14 years,” said Rubio. “Most importantly, I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go and clear ideas about how to get it there and I think we’re very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.”

When asked if he was qualified to run, Rubio reiterated that the Republican Party has several qualified candidates.

“The question is what — who’s vision is the one that our party wants to follow?” he said.

Rubio – who spoke to Karl on Friday in New Hampshire — said that if he decides to seek the presidency, he would not simultaneously seek re-election as a senator for the Sunshine State.

Marco’s problem is, now that we know him we’re ready for him.

There have been more than 200 lawsuits adjudicated since 2008 that have challenged Obama’s eligibility. The latest legal challenge to Obama’s natural born citizenship status will be discussed in conference at SCOTUS later this week (Vogt v. U.S. District Court for The Western District of Washington).

I am an “original intent” kinda guy. The main reason is that I believe that our framers and founders were inspired by God. The Constitution is such an incredible document that God MUST have had a hand in it. He has blessed our nation (at least until now).

I can’t say the same for our courts and judges.

After reading the essay: The Constitutional Meaning Of “Natural Born Citizen” (see post #7 above), you will have to honestly admit that what the Constitution means by “Natural Born Citizen”, is “physically born IN the United States by TWO citizen parents.”

Like I have said before, If you were born in the contiguous United States (48) by two citizen parents who were U.S. citizens at the time of your birth, you are definitely a “Natural Born Citizen”.

At this time it is still possible to have been born in Alaska and Hawaii before they were states. Territories and possessions have various different citizenship laws. If you were not born in the lower 48, your NBC status becomes a “maybe”, and requires additional research.

Your NBC status is determined at the second of your birth. Where are you? What is the citizenship of your parentS?

He was born in Miami FL. He is a natural born citizen. He is over 43 years of age. He is also at least as qualified as Obama.

I would prefer him to be in a cabinet position in a Republican Administration. Even a VP post. I really feel we need a person with executive experience. A governor like Jindal, Perry, or Scott Walker. They have been able to lead in difficult times and show success.

60? 60 is the new 30!

Has to be. Today's 30- year old is 1950's 12-year old. Make that "dumb 12-year old."

Yo, Spigot, agree with you though I may, unless your last paycheck says "SCOTUS," I refuse to use your firm as the arbiter of Natural Born Citizenship.

The SCOTUS cannot even tell us what a citizen of any kind is at the moment, never mind the NBC thing. For example, about 1500 kids were born last night to illegal aliens ... they will be given automatic citizenship. Not only is that not right, it is a violation of international law!

Some bimbo from Shanghai gets a tourist visa to drop her foal in Seattle, and that makes little Wan Hoong Lo an American? Say something, Tony, Sam, Clarence. Can't you dudes find one more normal heterosexual to agree to look into this?

Sí, se puede. (I put that en español, Spig, because if these blackrobèd bumkissers don't get on this soon, the SCOTUS will be televised on Unavisión)

No, "whose" vision.

But who expects a news organization to know English?

But Is He Constitutionally Eligible?

Of course. He's older than 35 isn't he? That is the only requirement.

Oh, but wait! Given that the various courts have held that secretaries of State do not have the responsibility to insure compliance with Article II, then he doesn't even have to meet that requirement.

In other words, everyone is eligibile. Mao Tse Tung is eligible. Adolph Hitler is Eligible. It doesn't matter where you're born, or who your parents are, because THERE ARE NO REQUIREMENTS.

In 2016, I'm going to get behind the campaign of Vladimir Putin. He may be a totalitarian oligarch, but the man has balls, so in that regard he would make a better President than this current sap.

Yes People, the courts have Spoken! Everyone just needs to accept the Plessy v Ferguson verdict, and quit bother people about it. "Separate but Equal" is the law of the land, and there is NOTHING anyone can do to change it!

The Courts are our masters, and we must blindly obey anything these morons tell us!

No, he is not. Both parents were Cuban nationals when he was born. Plus, he sucks on illegal immigration.

No freaking way. He’s not courageous or principled enough, either. Nope, nada, no way, never, not, non, nyet, nein, etc.
