JOHN BOEHNER: MY FRIEND JEB BUSH WOULD MAKE A 'GREAT PRESIDENT'
Breitbart Big Government ^ | 12 May 2014 | by CHARLIE SPIERING

Posted on 05/12/2014 4:51:57 PM PDT by kingattax

House Speaker John Boehner signaled support for former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to run for president during a press conference on Monday.

“Jeb Bush is my friend,” Boehner said. "I think he’d make a great president. And I’ve been nudging him for some time.”

Boehner made his remarks during a Q&A session with Texas Tribune at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Boehner also asserted that a majority of Republicans were interested in immigration reform, even though some were blocking the issue.

We don’t need political dynasties and we don’t need Jeb. I won’t vote for him. Time for a serious third party. So sick of republican retreads.

Boner will be there as long as he wants to be there. Jeb will be the republican nominee but Hillary will “win”. Remember when all the liberals were screaming “Selected, not elected” in 2000? They didn’t realize just how right they were.

Jeb Bush is something we can live without. We need a real transformational figure...not a compassionate moderate.

Stop complaining and work for conservative candidates in primaries. Make phone calls to every one you know. Ring bells.

3rd party has not won in 100 years. Why back a guaranteed loser in general election?

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

There will never be a conservative majority in the house or senate.. It is a mistake to conflate Republican with conservative. The Republicans will never permit a conservative majority.

The DNC works for its base the GOP attacks theirs....

2. Get ready to pass amnesty
3. Sabotage the Tea Party

You have to think that boner is getting paid to destroy the GOP in the short run and forever.

I believe that the Republican party is being given permission to exist by the Democrat party in exchange for cooperation to the left.
I think it already past the point where the Treasury has been effective in buying the left office, financing and a majority of the vote.

Good grief. Every day it’s something. Something like this.

It’s really why I no longer feel the slightest connection or the slightest affiliation with the GOP whatsoever. Boehner, Jeb Bush. Yesterday it was Rand Paul chiding people for being concerned about voter-i.d., and saying it was “offending people.”

The Republican Party has become something very strange, very distant, and very foreign to me.

Well, for one thing, in the past two months, I gave money and supported tea-party candidates in my state’s primary. For another, I also wrote letters (snail-mail) to my congressman and my two senators, that if the Republicans conspired with the Dems to pass amnesty, that I’ve made a vow I will never vote for a single Republican candidate again, big office or small. Ditto for my family. It’s a vow we will keep.

I’ve been an exclusive GOP voter my entire voting life. In every election and primary. When I was drawn to the Republican Party, the topics that animated the Party were things like family values, anti-communism, balanced budget ammendments, term limits, judicial activism, and the like. It was a Party that seemed to share my values. That is obviously no longer the case. Where are the GOP leaders decrying the homo-fascists, the crazed judges, the cultural sewer that America has become?

That's a good thing.

So, how do you expect to vote for the people you gave money to? All the TEAparty people in Congress are Republicans.

When I was drawn to the Republican Party, the topics that animated the Party were things like family values, anti-communism, balanced budget ammendments, term limits, judicial activism, and the like. It was a Party that seemed to share my values.

It still is, go read the RNC and your state party platforms. People like you crafted those declarations of principles.

Where are the GOP leaders decrying the homo-fascists, the crazed judges, the cultural sewer that America has become?

Ding ding ding! There you have it.

The GOP leadership and elected officials that don't honor the platform need to be pulled out by the roots and thrown in the trash.

I’m going to stand by my vow, come hell or high water.

It likely won’t even be difficult. I already crossed the line in 2012 by leaving my presidential ballot blank, and refusing to give Romney my vote. First time in my voting life a GOP candidate didn’t get my vote. All thanks to Romney’s facillitation of homo-marriage, and his minions’ backstabbing attacks on Palin.

I’m not giving anyone my vote who holds my views and my values in contempt, regardless of party. And right now, I’m seeing practically zero evidence that the GOP leaders remotely share my views anymore.

What’s so funny about that?

Believing there is any intent by the party to adhere to their planks?
There's plenty of reasons that show it to be a lie (at least considering as-a-party).

  1. Government accountability
    1. NSA domestic espionage
    2. Fast & Furious
    3. Benghazi
    4. Voter Fraud
    5. The Executive's rule by decree
    6. Unchecked Debt Incurrance
    7. Unchecked waste (e.g. ObamaCare website)
    8. No push to repeal asset forfeiture laws
  2. Fiscal Responsibility (see much of the above)
  3. Strong Defense
    1. Dismantling the F-22 project
    2. Endorsing the F-35
    3. Failure to make securing the borders an issue
    4. Failure to make illegal immigration an issue (heck, they're gearing up to push amnesty down our throats)
    5. Failure to pushi for repeal of GCA and NFA
  4. Pro Second Amendment
    1. Failure to push for repeal of the GCA
    2. Failure to push for repeal of the NFA
    3. Failure to push back against "prohibited areas" (e.g. federal post offices, courthouses, military installations, etc.)
  5. Pro-life
    1. Mitt Romney.
Seriously, they pushed him even while adding no exceptions, not even rape or incest to the platform's stance on abortion — the guy is very much for exceptions.
In short, the party's actions are nothing like the platform.
It may be a good platform, but you've got to realize it's a bunch of words that the party-as-a-whole has no intention of

LOOK!

There's a difference between "the party", the elected officials at whatever level, and the people who created the platform.

The reason it's a good platform is because regular Republican voters crafted it and the convention voted on it. This happens both at the state and national levels. There's no reason to make fun of the platform if the voters created it and believe in it.

The fact that the RINOs consider it a joke and crap all over it, is where most the problem lies. The fact that the Republican voters in the various states let them get away with it, is the rest of the problem. (See: McCain, Gramnesty, Boner etc etc etc)

THAT is where the TEAparty comes into the equation.

I say again, and you seem to agree..."There is nothing wrong with the GOP Platform".

Just like there's nothing wrong with the Constitution.

Just like the teleprompter-incident vote? [Link]

This happens both at the state and national levels. There's no reason to make fun of the platform if the voters created it and believe in it.

That's not what I'm making fun of — it's that obviously directed at (a) the segment which is obsessed with 'electable'; and (b) those people who are duped by words-with-no-intention (i.e. the majority of the Republican party's politicians) — that you're taking offense is quite interesting.

The fact that the RINOs consider it a joke and crap all over it, is where most the problem lies.
The fact that the Republican voters in the various states let them get away with it, is the rest of the problem. (See: McCain, Gramnesty, Boner etc etc etc)

I agree; completely.
And that so many will excuse support of those RINOs is deeply disturbing as well. (e.g. those who defend Palin's support of McCain.)

THAT is where the TEAparty comes into the equation.
I say again, and you seem to agree..."There is nothing wrong with the GOP Platform".

As a platform, sure — but the Republicans in power don't have any intention in following up.
(There are some exceptions; Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy spring to mind — but that they're exceptions is a problem.)

Just like there's nothing wrong with the Constitution.

You're absolutely wrong there — the 17th Amendment altered the legislature of the federal government so that we are a Republic in name only (that is, the Senate acts as a super-representative[-of-the-people] rather than representing the States). The 16th Amendment is pretty bad as well. The 14th Amendment ought to be repealed as well — first, because of the doctrine of incorporation; second, because of the prohibition on questioning the validity of the national debt.
