What Does The U.S. Government Want in Ukraine?
Townhall.com ^ | May 13, 2014 | Ron Paul

Posted on 05/13/2014 4:04:09 AM PDT by Kaslin

In several eastern Ukrainian towns over the past week, the military opened fire on its own citizens. Dozens may have been killed in the violence. Although the U.S. government generally condemns a country's use of military force against its own population, especially if they are unarmed protesters, this time the U.S. administration blamed the victims. After as many as 20 unarmed protesters were killed on the May 9th holiday in Ukraine, the State Department spokesman said "we condemn the outbreak of violence caused by pro-Russia separatists."

Why are people protesting in eastern Ukraine? Because they do not believe the government that came to power after the US-backed uprising in February is legitimate. They do not recognize the authority of an unelected president and prime minister. The U.S. sees this as a Russian-sponsored destabilization effort, but is it so hard to understand that the people in Ukraine may be annoyed with the U.S. and EU for their involvement in regime change in their country? Would we be so willing to accept an unelected government in Washington put in place with the backing of the Chinese and Iranians?

The U.S. State Department provided much assistance earlier this year to those involved in the effort to overthrow the Ukrainian government. The U.S. warned the Ukrainian government at the time not to take any action against those in the streets, even as they engaged in violence and occupied government buildings. But now that those former protesters have come to power, the U.S. takes a different view of protest. Now they give full support to the bloody crackdown against protesters in the east. The State Department spokesperson said last week: "We continue to call for groups who have jeopardized public order by taking up arms and seizing public buildings in violation of Ukrainian law to disarm and leave the buildings they have seized." This is the opposite of what they said in February. Do they think the rest of the world does not see this hypocrisy?

The residents of eastern Ukraine have long been closer to Russia than to the U.S. and EU. In fact, that part of Ukraine had been a part of Russia. After February's regime change, officials in the east announced that they would hold referenda to see whether the population wanted autonomy from the U.S.-backed government in Kiev. The U.S. demanded that Russian President Putin stop eastern Ukraine from voting on autonomy, and last week the Russian president did just that: he said that the vote should not be held as scheduled. The eastern Ukrainians ignored him and said they would hold the vote anyway. So much for the U.S. claims that Russia controls the opposition in Ukraine.

Even though the Russian president followed U.S. demands and urged the eastern Ukrainians to hold off on the vote, the U.S. State Department announced that the U.S. would apply additional sanctions on Russia if the vote is held! Does this make any sense?

The real question is why the U.S. government is involved in Ukraine in the first place. We are broke. We cannot even afford to fix our own economy. Yet we want to run Ukraine? Does it really matter who Ukrainians elect to represent them? Is it really a national security matter worth risking a nuclear war with Russia whether Ukraine votes for more regional autonomy and a weaker central government? Isn't that how the United States was originally conceived?

Has the arrogance of the U.S. administration, thinking they should run the world, driven us to the brink of another major war in Europe? Let us hope they will stop this dangerous game and come to their senses. I say let's have no war for Ukraine!

The US wants to prevent Putin from dominating Europe with his pan-Russian neo-nazism. Even the Liberal New Republic is more pro-freedom than the Putinista mafia and its churlish cheerleaders.

In order to believe that Vladimir Putin is anything other than the heroic figure he appears to be, you need to believe that Bork Obunga, the Rothschilde family, George Soros, Victoria Nuland, John (the gigolo) Kerry, Hillary KKKlintler, and every other one of the "neocvon(TM)" fools in our state department are all good people, which is ridiculous.

Matt Drudge is referring to Putin as the leader of the free world

The United States is still demographically a Christian nation but you'd never know it from observing our government. All you ever read about our government doing these days is supporting regimes which persecute Christians and Christianity, and then you ask whose side you think God might be on? You think God could ever be on the side of George Soros, Monsanto, and the Obunga state department?? For that matter do you think God would be on the side of "conservatives" who weren't bright enough to see through demoKKKrat/NWO/Soros/US_StateDept propaganda and BS??

All of that is aside from the fact that Putin almost singlehandedly stopped the idiot greentards and Malthusians from shutting down all of the world's economies in 04 with the Russian hacker attack on the East Anglia CU email database which gave rise to "Climategate" (www.climategate.com). Other than for that, all of the idiots comparing Putin with Hitler would likely be rubbing sticks together to make fire.

The rulers of Russia have taken a hard look at the ongoing suicide of the West and determined that Russia is not going to participate. This may in fact be the biggest factor in the tidal wave of propaganda and disinformation which the West is subjected to regarding Russia and Vladimir Putin, and in the policies of our state department. The bankers who run the West hope to prevent the calamity which they are facing by bail-ins and austerity programs and that, combined with the Malthusian and greentard policies of our governments figure to produce a world of major grief for the West over the coming decades.

Those people can ill afford the alternative example of a prosperous and happy version of reality in the BRIC nations for everybody on the planet to see on television and the internet.

Imagine a scenario where you're back in 1985 during the peak of the Reagan years.

Now imagine you have the future photos of two world leaders from 2014 placed in front of you, with 25 prominent public statements (without any national references) from each of them underneath their photos.

One is a photo of Barack Hussein Obama and 25 of his notable statements. The other is a photo of Vladimir Putin and the English translations of 25 of his notable statements.

If you were back in 1985 and could see this, which of these two would you assume to be the AMERICAN and CHRISTIAN leader?

Germany’s former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has blamed European Union policy for the current situation in Ukraine and urged the West to stop focusing on new sanctions against Russia.

In Schroeder’s opinion, the EU’s fundamental mistake - that subsequently led to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine – was its association policy, he said in an interview with German newspaper Welt am Sonntag published Sunday.

Brussels “ignored” Ukraine’s deep cultural division between traditionally pro-European western regions and Russia-leaning regions in the east, the former chancellor said.

Kiev, however, had to pick either an association with the EU or a Customs Union with Russia, Schroeder said. He suggested that it could have been more reasonable if the former Soviet republic was offered an alternative when it could do both...

You’re missing the point that the previous Ukrainian administration was corrupt beyond belief. The president and his ministers may have stolen billions. If you’ve seen the pictures of their estates on the internet, there is no way they paid for all that with their salaries.

One of the cobs up Putin’s butt is the fact he’s the ring leader of a similar corrupt government with unimaginable wealth for a few. A big part of Putin’s angst is preventing his own subjects from getting ideas if the popular outrage against his Ukrainian buddy, ex-presidente Yonukovych spreads to Russia. He’s managed to subvert Russian public opinion by playing on patriotism. The Russian disinformation has served him well seeing it has been rebroadcast as truth by many of the Western media.

The “end game” is a lot bigger than just Ukraine.

The Obama Administration destabilized Ukraine as a way to put pressure on Putin, after Syria.

The logic being that a distracted Putin allows Obama to help Al Qaeda win in Syria, which allows the Saudi’s to build that pipeline to Europe they want so badly, before the South Stream Project gets built.

As usual, it has backfired on them.

Take note that the Kiev coup government has at NO point, has made any effort to negotiate with the rebels. This is obviously being driven from DC, as events have shown.

Community organizers don’t negotiate. They intimidate and bully to get their way. This has been the Obama Administrations M.O. from the start.
