A neo-Nazi convicted killer who once appeared in court with a swastika carved into his forehead died yesterday in a suspected prison suicide.
Keith Luke, 28, of Brockton was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. at University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, said Darren Duarte, spokesman for the state Department of Correction.
The former Brockton resident, who was serving two life sentences for murder and 210 years for rape, kidnapping and other crimes, had been on life support since he was found unresponsive in his prison cell at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley just after 1 p.m. on Saturday, Duarte said.
Duarte told the Herald prison officials rushed Luke to Leominster Hospital and later transferred him to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he died two days later.
State officials suspect suicide — not foul play — but the cause of death is still under investigation, according to Duarte.
Luke had tried to commit suicide in the past, including a 2010 attempt that landed him in the hospital for surgery after a self-inflicted throat wound.
Luke was convicted last year in the racially motivated murderous rampage that began when he barged into a neighbor’s home, repeatedly raping and shooting her. He killed the woman’s sister when she interrupted the assault, shot and killed an elderly homeless man and then fired at Brockton police as he fled.

We had a convicted cop killer end himself in prison the other day here in Michigan. Fortunately he didn’t linger because he was fixin to cost us a lot. Just 20 years old and got life without parole.
